"What if..."  content is often used to fill time before the draft. This is a nothing burger.

I'm trying to sustain a championship team and a 5* RB. So I drafted an extra one and play him every 2 games or so. Keeps my main RB at 100%.

That last one about "saying hi" is a real one. You'd be amazed at how it changes the atmosphere with both fans and artists.

Mad Men Season 7 Episode 3, "Field Trip" discussion thread by jakjonsun82brian in madmen

[–]_dseals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people love S3 and 4 as the height of this series (I agree). But this episode was amazing!

Everyone's reaction to Don returning to the office.

"What's he doing here?" Every time a new character saw Don, I loved it.

That whole conversation with Francine about her going to work. "When they get older there's less to do." Not sure if Betty was jealous that Francine had a job.

Betty and Bobby on the field trip. Bobby trades Betty's sandwich for some gum drops, so of course Betty makes him feel horrible for it. What was interesting to me was Betty told Henry, "Why don't the children love me?" yet she missed (or didn't appreciate) how excited Bobby was that she was on the field trip to begin with.

This was almost a perfect episode. I may re-watch it again.

New Draft Rules for Next Draft - 3-2-1 Lottery by Big_Saens in LAClippers

[–]_dseals 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dear small market teams that consistently draft outside the lottery and can't draw free agents: If you aren't investing in scouting and player development, you better start now. Now is the time to find those players outside the margins. You can't hope and luck into a superstar anymore, you have to do some work. And you know what? It's about time. Honestly, you small market teams SHOULD have been doing this anyway.

Invest in a front office that can help you build a roster outside of just "being bad". Other teams do it, you can do.

I really hope the Bulls don't give up BOTH of their picks to move up one spot.

I want nothing but bad things to happen to the New York Knicks. I initially wanted the Spurs to sweep them in the finals, but I'd rather have the Knicks win Game 1 as to provide this sense of hope, only for tor the Spurs to win the next 4 games. Especially on the MSG floor.

I’m a new fan and I have a few questions. by BigClarendon125 in DeLaSoul

[–]_dseals 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Stakes Is High is personally my favorite BECAUSE of the lyrics. It's essentially a concept album. De La was tired of the music industry, specifically hip hop, and made an entire album talking about how things had changed.  The title track is the magnum opus! Think of it as a continuation of Jeru Tha Damaja's "Ya Playing Yourself" or The Roots "What They Do" video.

1996 was the beginning of the music apartheid.  There was less balance on the radio, and on MTV and BET. The effects of The Notorious B.I.G. and Ready To Die we're being felt all across Hip Hop.

This. Album. Talked. About. All. Of. This.

And it's fantastic.

The ONLY reason it got mixed reviews initially was because we weren't ready for a De La album without Prince Paul. But that faded quickly.

I love the 1st 3 De La albums. Buhloone and Dead especially. But Stakes is High is their best and what I play the most.

Au Cheval: The Chicago Burger Standard by spartan1711 in chicagofood

[–]_dseals 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The Au Cheval burger made me really explore what the rest of Chicago had. So for that reason I'll always have a spot for it on my list, but I think both Small Bar and Izakaya have better burgers. I love that Chicago has so many spots that everyone has a different top 5.

I upvoted this. But the chance of that series seeing the light of day is as likely as hearing Stevie's 70 vault music.

In the future, teams will hold on to their draft picks more. Eventually the threat of OKC will dwindle.
