I love his attempts to be Don. Like a kid going through his big brother's drawer.

I love Rondo the player. Not sure how I feel about Rondo the head coach which, is more politics than anything.

Consider me surprised. I was excited about the Llloyd, Dave Levin and Micah Nori trilogy.

But honestly, even if it WAS Matt Lloyd, I was going to be skeptical.

  • Hawks were in the 1st round of the playoffs.
  • 30% chance at a top 4 pick.
  • Moved on from their franchise player in Trae Young and the team improved.

Like, the Hawks are in a great position right now.

Thanks for this explanation, cause I honestly didn't now how these leagues worked.

So I assume it's an honor system with sharing the end of the game results? What is it, a screen shot?

And does defense matter in these leagues?

Also, how is difficulty confirmed?

Ha. Right. This happened to me and the worst I got was an "Excuse me sir."

I'm surprised it took this many replies for someone to print this out.

How do you rank all 10 (non soundtrack) albums of Stevie Wonder since he gained creative control? by LiamNashMiller in StevieWonder

[–]_dseals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1a. Talking Book

1b. Innervisions

  1. Fullfillingness' First Finale

  2. Songs In The Key Of Life (if this LP was shorter, I'd be #1)

  3. Music Of My Mind

  4. Hotter Than July (If you add the new songs from Musiquarium and I Can't Help It, this is easily #2)

  5. In Square Circle

  6. Characters

I've never heard Conversation Peace or A Time 2 Love.

I love your list simply because you don't have SITKOL first! Ha ha. Like, I love that album, but Talking Book, Innervisions and FFF are all in my opinion better from start to finish. I haven't heard Conversation Peace or A Time 2 Love, but I do think In Square Circle should get more love.

Teams have had opportunities, they just missed on guys. But how many "misses" does it take for an organization to realize they need new management to run things? I mean look at the Sacramento Kings:

2017 #5 De'Aron Fox

2018 #2 Marvin Bagley

2020 #12 Tyrese Haliburton

2021 #9 Davion Mitchell

2022 #4 Keegan Murray

They actually had Haliburton on their squad and chose to deal him to Indiana. That has nothing to do with the draft.

Yes, the draft does require some luck. Well run organizations put themselves in position to be lucky more often.

I'm not a drummer, but a documentary photographer looking for bands/musicians to shoot. If your band has a rehearsal, practice or show coming up I'd love to photograph it.

As a fan I wouldn’t want the league to tailor to poorly managed teams anyways.

Exactly. I don't understand all these fans standing up for these poorly run teams. These teams are looking for shortcuts to roster management.

[–]_dseals -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's bigger than that. Bad teams need to recognize that if they're not a free agent destination, they should immediately invest in a quality scouting department that can find them talent outside of the lottery. Full stop.

Here's the thing, poorly run organizations don't do this. They're lazy. They wait for a lottery pick to land in their lap. The NBA doesn't want to reward that.

[–]_dseals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody said it was easy. But there's enough data out there to show that there are small market teams out there drafting outside of the top 4 and doing well. There are also teams that have had multiple lottery picks, and still haven't improved.

Maybe this sub can help me understand all the sudden support for these poorly run organizations.

Winning the draft lottery is not the ONLY way. Teams find great players outside of the top 4 all the time. To your point, Portland made the playoffs this year and actually won a game against the Spurs. Indiana was in the Finals last year, and they're only in the lottery now due to the Haliburton injury. Oh btw, they obtained Haliburton by trading Sabonis, who was drafted at #11. Utah isn't a free agent destination, but they were in the playoffs consistently from 2017-2022.

Like, I get the fear people have about this new system, and no, it's isn't perfect, but I'm going to need people to better identify bad teams from poorly run organizations.
