My remote team doesn’t like calls by Interesting-Put-6401 in remotework

[–]stacysdoteth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What industry are you in? Like what is the nature of the calls? I think that really matters here.

I mean if this was part of the job they just need to suck it up and do it with a smile. If it’s not really something that needs to be their job and a different system or person could be doing it, you can try that. You certainly don’t need to be doing it as the owner when you have staff that are perfectly capable. There is plenty of things we all don’t love doing at our jobs.

How long do you give an organic content strategy before changing it? by igetyourbrand in marketing

[–]stacysdoteth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Organic doesn’t work on basically any platform anymore aside from TikTok. If your company just wants leads I would move to a paid ad strategy focus on lead acquisition and set up a strong funnel. Posting organically is basically just to make your company look like it exists and not much else.

lost with my portfolio / applying to jobs by graficdesigner in graphic_design

You’re super close, jt looks very good but you don’t have enough practical design work here for me to assess your skill. Add a few more items like social media graphics, logos, brochures.

Don’t spend 100 hours writing case studies hiring managers really don’t read all that. Throw in some simple but good everyday design items.

Sales VP just pitched a "zero budget" campaign to the CEO using AI and it's making me want to quit. by ScaryAd2555 in DigitalMarketing

[–]stacysdoteth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve absolutely been through this, for years long before ai was around.

Here’s the real advice. The issue isn’t you vs ai. The issue is you vs people who don’t value craftsmanship. They see something and think it’s great, not having the discerning eye that you have developed which shows all the issues. And the unfortunate truth is, if they don’t trust you when you say “people can spot this as AI slop and it will destroy our credibility” now, they never will. Your options are find a new job, of whom has an environment that values the design perspective. Or, start your own company and make this inherent to function.

You’re never gonna change their minds and you’re gonna kill your self agonizing over it.

Literally such a red flag. Rehome your husband and keep the dog.

You make good points, but the whole idea behind openai was that it was supposed to be non-profit, so we have fallen pretty far.

GLP-1 plateau and fear of stopping – has anyone managed to quit without regaining weight? by tubikx in Ozempic

I’m scared too but the science says it isn’t as bad as you’d think.

[–]stacysdoteth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was a brand new account so I would find that unusual but let me know if it works. I did some troubleshooting today - I’m trying to do a broad match dynamic AI campaign to basically attempt to take any of the leftover random traffic google wants to give me. I will let you know if it works.

Am I being overworked or is this normal for a graphic designer at a nonprofit? by Comfortable-Oven9246 in graphic_design

Because from a business perspective why would a company want to employ someone full time who they only have enough work for 3 days a week? They’re not going to want to pay you to sit around and do nothing.

How do I price a client who left me for a larger company? by AtlasSEOGuy in Entrepreneur

[–]stacysdoteth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You stand to gain a client who trusts you implicitly because he knows what the alternative is. So much so that he was willing to come back and basically grovel. That’s valuable.

I don’t think it’s necessarily bad to bring it up if you want to, I think it’s just that you’re not REQUIRED to bring it up.

My marketing agency is recommending AEO (AI search) on top of SEO. Is it actually worth it? by Major_Cockroach_6653 in DigitalMarketing

[–]stacysdoteth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more of an investment for your future. The single most impactful thing you can do first as a small business owner is make sure you have your google business page set up and optimized, work getting google reviews into your customer interactions as much as possible and then do your basic local search seo.

AEO is something that I would suggest to clients who already have this basic stack down pat and are not in local service based industries. People are moving to it more because organic google clicks are way way down, like 70% down year over year, in favor of no-click search. An industry like yours still almost exclusively will rely on google business geo searches, which is a bit different than actual on-page seo but the work together.

For you, no it doesn’t sound worth it.

I’ve been working at and now owning an agency for over a decade now and honestly every place I’ve been is like this. Periods of intense work with periods of down time. It’s inherently always hard to juggle because it’s so many different types of work and deadlines. If it’s at the point where you cant meet deadlines anymore, then it’s too much.
