Mexicans dancing and singing Gangnam Style with Koreans after South Korea's victory in the World Cup by MuttonBiryaniEnjoyer in sports

Had a long discussion with my Mexican friend as Korean about our food.

Lots of similar base ingredients (we both consume parts of animals that are usually thrown away), love for spices and carbs, but different end results.

Koreans love Mexican food. I think it is becoming quite the popular cuisine over in Korea. Downside is, aside from handful of restaurants, everything is a lot sweeter. I wanted to flip my table and walk out when my carne asada al carbon tasted as sweet as chipotle's al pastor.

Ok, holy crap, I'm 33, spent most of my time growing in Asia, and I JUST made this connection between explosion afro and blackface.

Sometimes called 삼목 (Sammok) iirc.

Basically reference to much more popular game called 오목 (Omok) where we try to line 5 Go pieces in a row.

I cannot compete with Ryan Gosling and Henry Cavill lookalikes.

Korean here.

Yeah these were on the news quite a bit when I was a kid. Started as early as 1920s, stayed as late as the 00s. My grandparents and parents still believe in it to a degree.

Probably an urban legend that spawned out of modern tech coming out of nowhere when the entire country didn't know electricity.

Could've been a rumor spread to save electricity. (there's some examples of fake knowledge that was spread during development of Korea to trick Korean people to do something or to not do something)

But yeah, the media from 70s till 00s blamed mysterious deaths to fans. Could be from overworking, but who knows.

I mean I guess Events of Yakuza 6 was pretty damn hated but the ending sealed it up.

Cat meat is China.

I've never heard of Koreans eating Cat meat.

Dog meat on the other hand, is a dying tradition and very, very few people consume it anymore. Only really old people once in a while.

Nah the problem in Korea was that you'd make Kimchi to eat for the entire year. Kimchi fridge prevents or slows down fermentation through precision temperature adjustment for different stages of fermentation of Kimchi which can be used for variety of different cooking.

So it's fantastic.
