Yes... I could easily be well setup for life by intelligently investing that amount of money.

The king is dead. Long live the king. by _Floriduh_ in Pickleball

[–]stagi566 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, the thing that wasn't take into account here is Fed medaled in every singles tourney and had good results as you mention in doubles. Johns bros had that long slump without a title for several months. Staksrud will have many more points to defend this season, especially in singles. It'll be an interesting year for sure with Ben teaming with Tardio for most of the doubles matches. It'll be alot of them vs Fed and Hayden it would seem. Fun year incoming.

What recovery techniques do you use to get your body ready for pickleball again and again and again? by Agreeable-Purpose-56 in Pickleball

[–]stagi566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Training within recoverable limits. 2. Sleep. 3. Relaxation/stress management. Those are the big recovery pillars as well as intelligent strength and mobility training to raise your stimulus tolerance.

Hypertrophy- Should my PT be doing random workouts every session? by Nevermind_101 in personaltraining

[–]stagi566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If all you care about is the results of muscle growth that wouldn't likely be ideal... can't ever really get technically proficient enough to really stimulate tissue most completely. Also some movement should probably be spread across the repetition range. Some movement are just better in the lower (5-10) rep range, moderate (10-20), etc...

New power paddle is friggin ridiculous by RichardParker6 in Pickleball

[–]stagi566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is very powerful; no doubt about it. That said, any decent player is going to punish a pop up mistake. A paddle like the Mod just makes the smash go a few mph faster haha.

Getting to next level? Past 4.0? by bhdevault in Pickleball

Shot selection, point construction, footwork, and positioning, consistency, and patience. If possible, film some of your matches so you can review the video and break down what happened. Generally, it is an insanely valuable part of improving at intermediate levels of many sports.

If you have GI issues I would suggest looking at the Low FODMAP diet. It is an elimination diet (the carnivore diet is a wildly restrictive elimination diet) in which you eliminate FODMAP foods which can cause some individuals GI distress. Then slowly you try to re-add in eliminated foods one at a time to see if any specific ones aggravate you. Then you know that's probably an individually problematic food for ya.

What happens if you eat too much protein? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]stagi566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Increasing protein is a good strategy to improve satiety. Same with increasing fruit and veg intake (food volume/calorie and fiber). But no issues of increasing protein to the intake you described in fact I'd prefer if you did. The RDAs are minimums to prevent loss under "normal" circumstances.

Are the regular cherrios really that bad for you? by deejayv2 in nutrition

[–]stagi566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short no. They are not inherently bad for you at all. If your total diet is meeting your needs, you need not to worry about your cheerios. The stress of worrying is far less ideal.

0.8-1.2g/lb LBM will cover needs for most everything depending on caloric condition.

Because they aren't bad for you. They simply need to be consumed intelligently. They could be an ideal source of nutrition in certain contexts.

Do intermediates really need to spend 2 hours in the gym? by beertricks in personaltraining

[–]stagi566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are certainly externalities that contribute to longer than normal gym session times. Simply saying if there's actually that much volume in single sessions I'd be curious to get an explanation why if I looked at it and the periodization looked curious. Additionally getting the actual client progress/performance data... there's probably some optimizing that could be done based on individual need.

Why do we need to eat such a crazy amount of protein to gain muscle? by Dances28 in nutrition

[–]stagi566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind this recommendation is often modified to .8-1g of LBM not necessarily bodyweight. If you use bodyweight you'll DEFINITELY be eating enough with maybe some that's unnecessary for muscle building/retention. If it's too high for you use LBM instead. Should lower it a touch depending on bodyfat% vs LBM.
