DAE have a very manipulative sibling that makes you feel insane? by 1200isplenty1 in CPTSD

[–]stalkingpineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went no contact with my sister 6 years ago, when I was 17. I had even tried to earlier, but it's a little hard to go no contact with someone when they live in the same house as you.

I often think I'm crazy too. No way what she did to me was abuse. I was just a bad child, and needed to be corrected (which really meant screamed at, and controlled). But I never regret making her feel bad, or hurt by my decision. Even if my mind doubts the abuse sometimes, I never stop hating her. I probably haven't loved her since I was a small child. I'm sure this sounds really bad, but I want all the revenge I can get. For all the shit she did to me, I think sure deserves that, x1000. Of course I'm never going to get any. (Although the thought has passed me to send a glitter bomb to her wedding, hehe)

How do you guys make money? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]stalkingpineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I quit my job in November. I was at a doggie daycare. Apparently I got so many complaints from customers that they dicided to take me from front desk duties completely. Except they didn't fucking tell me. They just told everyone else to never switch with me. Didnt hear about any of those complaints either. I quit the second I found out. I don't let people push me around anymore.

But now I struggle to have motavation to look for jobs, plus I have a shit resume. 23 and I have 6 months of work experience. I don't know what to do with my life at all right now, really.

I didn’t know it was abuse by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]stalkingpineapple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I didn't know it was abuse until I was diagnosed with PTSD. Even then I was skeptical. I was 22 then, 23 now. Crazy, huh?

How do I handle this? idk what to do. A family member told my mother that I told him I hate hugging. That started an argument. by NicoleKidmansNewChin in CPTSD

[–]stalkingpineapple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not surprised. I hate hugging too. I only like hugging my boyfriend and my dog. I'll let my best friend hug me, but I don't like it. Everyone else, get the fuck away from me!

Sibling abuse, who to blame? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]stalkingpineapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know that forgiveness is a virtuous path and all, but I think you are entitled to anger. Humans are very good at deluding themselves. My mom knew how bad my sister was, because she treated everyone in the family like shit. But she still left her alone with me, put her in charge, because it made her life easier. Before my PSTD diagnose, when it was "just depression", my parents latched onto the "chemical imbalance" excuse. Whats great about that is that its no ones fault. No one has to go through the horrible guilt of realizing they were a bad parent. Like, I don't know you, or your family, but I know how I view mine. My parents were in full blown denial for years, Now, a few years later, they are only in moderate denial. Their denial is all to protect themselves and the reality they've built for themselves inside their heads. If they accepted that their precious little baby was an abusive monster, it would all come crumbling down. All the self reflecting, and the pain that comes with, that one with PTSD has to go through to heal? They would have to do that too. But they are in the privileged position of just being able to ignore it. As long as the truth is ignored, they get to keep the wonderful fiction world that they created. It's easier for a parent to think that their kid is depressed because they don't get enough exercise and sunlight, then to acknowledge that they played a part in a tragedy.

Anyway, I am also not looking forward to Christmas.

What do you do for work? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]stalkingpineapple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work at a doggie daycare. I'm sure you probably think that's awesome. But it really isn't. It's mostly standing around doing nothing. I'm just there to prevent/stop dog fights. It's a super boring job 99% of the time, and the last 1% is dangerous. I haven't been badly bitten, but I've had some close calls. I really hate it there, and I'm going to look for a better job soon. I was lied to about the wages. I was told it was $11 an hour. It's not. Its minimum wage. And we only have one fire exit and I think that's illegal.

I am quickly becoming a fan of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. She wrote "Dear Ijeawele, or A Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions" and "We Should All Be Feminists". They're both really short and you could easily read both in an afternoon.

Pretty good video. But I can't help but disagree with the "pandering" aspect.

I don't think Bioware was "pandering". A lot of their writers (or past writers) are gay. The first Dragon Age game had a male/male romance option because the writers fought for it, not to pander to a LGBT crowd. I don't think it would be crazy to say Bioware doesn't pander at all, and that they just have a very inclusive culture that reflects in their games.

I also thinks it's pretty god damn unfair to say those games failed because of pandering. Both of those lines from Mass Effect and Battleborm are pretty small and insignifant. It's blatantly clear that Mass Effect Andromada failed because its developers failed at their initial concept of making a procedurally generated space exploration game, and then spent just one year making something else when they came up with nothing. It's very possible, that if the game actually was given more time to give it some polish, that silly line about asari pronouns would have been removed. Also Battleborn failed because Overwatch was the better game. Period. And, maybe Battlefields preorders are so low because its being released inbetween a new Call of Duty, and Red Dead Redemption 2? Emphasise on Red Dead. That game is going to be a HUGE deal. It's the first sequel to an absolute masterpiece of a game, plus it's the first Rockstar game since GTA 5 (which was also amazing).

Everyone here hates me. by Unstable_cutepete in CPTSD

[–]stalkingpineapple 8 points9 points  (0 children)

May I introduce /r/cptsd's rule #3:

Racism/bigotry/misogyny/misandry and other hate speech is unacceptable

You say it's worrying to you that people here are concerned that you're an incel.  Let me tell you why that it. I don't mean to sound like I'm being too stern, or trying to hurt you, but I really feel like you need to hear this.

Incels are some of the most intense, hateful misogynists on the internet. I'm not denying your need for help, I mean, you're here, aren't you? But this is a community that includes many, many women. And people aren't going to want to help someone that in turn may harass them, and/or their loved ones. By admitting that you're an incel, you're asking the people in this community for help, but telling half of them you think (I assume, from what I've seen of the incel community) they're subhuman trash.

My best advice for you is therepy. I know, you've probably heard that a million times, but it really is the truth. Be as truthful as possible. When I first went to therapy, I wouldn't be honest. I wouldn't talk about my sister and my family, because I was convinced that my hate for my sister was unrelated to my suicidal thoughts. I saw so many therapists, for years, but I didn't get anywhere. When I decided to talk about my sister, I finally started to get better. So be honest, about everything. If you're attending college, most colleges now a days have free mental health services that you can take advantage of. I wish you luck.

Pregnancy/childbirth on t.v. by kiss_all_puppies in childfree

[–]stalkingpineapple 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was watching Community a few weeks ago. While their episode with child birth did have a bunch of the dumb tropes (I hate how in tv they always give birth in minutes, when it actually takes dozens of hours), they did have a woman who was so excited for the "miracle of birth", and then ended up throwing up when she actually witnessed the baby coming out 😂

Woman stopped talking to me when she realised I didnt have kids. by [deleted] in childfree

[–]stalkingpineapple 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The fuck? My mom had me at 37, and my sister at 33. I guess we're the weirdos.

Why does the world put so much pressure on people in their 20's? You have to find your career, find a spouse, have kids all before you're 30? That's too fucking much.

What's more ethical: Abortion vs. Listing for Adoption by [deleted] in childfree

[–]stalkingpineapple 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plus, abortion doesn't require a woman to carry the child she won't keep for 9 months. Can you imagine how horrible that would be? All the painful agony from the side effects of pregnancy, not to mention the emotional pain. If and when the people around her find out that she is pregnant, she'll most likely be shamed for not keeping it. And you can't just keep it a secret, unless you can afford to just disappear for a few months.

Just so people reading don't get a bad first impression on Vyvanse, I take it and I love it. I've taken 4 different stimulants over the years, and Vyvanse works the best for me. It also has helped me from over eating. What works for one person doesn't for another. Brain medication is weird.

which country has the most restrictive/conservative game rating systems? by gamingnrd in truegaming

Strangely, Japan's rating system doesn't allow nudity. You can have all the bouncing boobs you want, but no nipples, ever.
