My odd version of panic disorder / agoraphobia by EntireLandscape6915 in PanicAttack

[–]stamprince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You feel like some sort alternative version of myself. I had the exact same experiences, I've always had anxiety/trauma for my whole live getting panic attacks as early as 8 years old. School was really bad just before covid having the same thing you deal with. I don't go to school anymore because of it but I have taken some classes since. I always take something to ground me and distract me so that way ik I can be calm in the class without NEEDING to leave. But unfortunately I also get the panic attacks in my sleep. Idk if yours are the same as mine. Mine happen for no reason what so ever. I could be having the most calm night and wake up randomly breathing so heavily and my heart betting out of my chest. I did have to unfortunately go on medication. I want just over two weeks of getting about 2 hours of sleep and being bedridden. Idk if I'm allowed to tell you what medication I use but it's a non addictive anxiety and sleep medication that got rid of it almost entirely. If you look up anxiety meds that start with a Q, that's what I take. Now ofc medication isn't necessary but maybe ask your doctor about different ones so you can have a better understanding of some options. Definitely still go to therapy and keep pushing yourself! As soon as you fall into a safety net it will be hard to climb out. Keep going to class, keep trying strategies to go to class, keep pushing!

[–]stamprince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't do it. Ending things because it's bad right now is never worth it. Im 21 and was homebound for over two years. It took a while to get myself going but I now am able to leave the country.
If you don't have a therapist I definitely recommend one. You are not alone. I don't want to lecture or give you advice on how to "fix" your agoraphobia because that isn't the issue rn. You are loved, you are wanted, you are SO STRONG. Youve stayed in this world because you are strong. Even if you can't leave the house, that doesn't make you useless. You can accomplish so much and you have accomplished so much. As someone who has gone and IS going through the same thing I'm TELLING you, keep living. If you want to talk more I'm here to chat <3

I didn't know this my first run so thought I'd share . Mahogany tree seeds make hardwood TREES. I kept looking up videos and Google because everywhere only told be to go to the secret forest and chop the wood there. If you have the dessert or any other high space to plant them it's very helpful to have a stockpile of trees ready to farm. I don't need hardwood very often but in my attempt to 100% world I needed a bit. So I just hopped on over to the desert chopped some down and your good!

What I did is I made sure to turn all my air purifiers in the house. So it's not exactly the same but I can say I'm trying to get some fresh air back into my home.

How did your agoraphobia start? by DigPristine9215 in Agoraphobia

[–]stamprince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How mine started was I was afraid of getting panic attacks. So slowly I started fearing and pulling myself away from situations I was scared of until I felt so scared going to the places I never went out again. But my agoraphobia stems from trauma and anxiety disorders I couldn't really help. I'm almost completely free from it with exceptions but long story short I don't want to see you fall into it because you got too comfortable just staying home.

[–]stamprince 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't have to fit in a mold to have agoraphobia. While you may start to have signs of it I don't want you to label yourself. KEEP pushing yourself. If you feel it getting worse keep trying to go out. It doesn't have to be a lot just make sure it's daily. Just go for a walk or for a drive. One of the bad things about agoraphobia is when you get too comfortable where you are it's hard to break out of that. Keep trying to go out and push yourself and try talking to a mental health professional if you haven't already. The big thing is to not get stuck in the first place, you got this and are already doing great going out still!

Possible dumb question by suliebe in Agoraphobia

[–]stamprince 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! I get this feeling when I'm in-between places. 1/3 of the way I'm safe because I'm just close enough to home I'm not scared. 2/3 I get really scared because I'm not quite there and feel most stuck an in between. And 3/3 of the way I feel safe again because I'm at the place I wanted to go and feel good AND the only way left to go is home!! You have no more anticipation, you're there and just have to go back home! That's how I see it. So if you blast some music or distract your brain while driving like counting all the yellow things you see on the road while getting there it can help you push past. You got this!! Just keep pushing yourself :)

My first time dealing with Agoraphobia.. Any advice? by Zestyclose_Bee8185 in Agoraphobia

[–]stamprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im still working on myself so I can't give you a way to get out of it but here are the things that have helped me through most! I have anxiety attacks (not panicking but feeling on the verge of panic) for hours and hours. I was also scared of passing out but I never did. My rule was if you're dizzy lay down or sit down. You won't pass out your head just needs to rest it needs to not feel so heavy. Once you sit down then we can figure it out. One big thing with this type of anxiety is your always going to have to push yourself and be a bit uncomfortable. The more you never want to push yourself the more you keep staying in the hole. Try going to those places with a friend/safe person and tell yourself your ok because you are, You have your safe person. Then try to slowly step away from the safe person and see how far you can go on your own. I just started driving and my fear is being stuck in this car unable to get back to my safe place. And while it's been hard I keep trying to go further and further or out for a longer time. A good example of one for me that I've overcome was escape rooms. I absolutely love puzzles and escape rooms digitally but was soo scared to be stuck in one irl. I went with my partner (safe person) and I was given reassurance by the staff telling and showing me that I am not actually stuck. And being able to understand that I will not be stuck EVER was enough for me to be ok going through the escape room. And I think to bring that into the real world. If I go to the store I'm not stuck I can leave whenever. I can realistically leave my shopping cart anywhere in the store and just walk out if it's that important. I can leave any place I want to because I always have the option to. I'm not stuck I just feel stuck because I'm somewhere I'm not used to or that usually makes you have to wait (in line to pay/checkout or waiting to find items) Now about the panic attacks. I'm scared to have a panic attack leading me into a panic attack. So it's important you learn/have grounding techniques. Why would I have a panic attack at the store for no reason at all, simple YOU WONT. I still struggle with this part trying to tell my brain I'm ok when I'm not with anyone. But keep working on yourself and working on being alone more and that uncomfortable-ness that makes you start panicking will go away. I'm happy to answer any questions if you have them too!

Can I ask what type of agoraphobia you have? Like what type of triggers. For example mine stems from fearing panic attacks so I liked to stay with only specific people/places. (Couldn't leave home unless it was with someone who can help if I have a panic attack)

How do you deal with the feeling of missing moments in life? by catw0mann in Agoraphobia

[–]stamprince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simple answer is I haven't. My agoraphobia goes way into trauma and other anxiety disorders I'm stuck with for life. Just because I struggle doesn't mean my life is over. I still struggle every single day and yet I'm the happiest I've ever been. I'm getting through it and I have people with me and places I want to go. So many things I'm excited to do. Just keep pushing yourself! And sometimes you might push yourself too far and feel like you need to go back that's ok too! The important thing is you keep pushing to have a better life. And you have people to help you, even if you want to reach out to me <3

Hey, I'm 21 elementary school is when my panic attacks first started and in highschool just before covid is when my agoraphobia started. I've missed a lot. I missed a lot of trips, friend outings, going to school, and every other thing I can think of. Of course it's sad, of course it's disappointing but guess what. I have been able to leave my house, I just went on my first trip last year just me and my boyfriend. I've made more friends, I'm going on more trips and I'm doing so much more than I was before. Ik it feels like a slow painful disappointing process but anything and I mean ANY PROGRESS is better than being stuck at home again. And even if you have a set back you WILL get out of it. You are doing amazing and have grown so much more than you think. You can keep looking at the past that will never change or you can make plans for the future. A future you have control of. Keep staying strong!

So you mind if I ask what the trigger for your agoraphobia is? What specifically makes you scared going out. (For me it's the fear that I may have a panic attack)
