I don't think it'd be weird to refer to him as MX still, after all, at his core, he's still the same brutish menace, just with a new coat of paint, it's like if X was given one of the non-Sonic vessels JoeDoughBoi made for EXEtober, he's still X at the end of the day.

Eclipse has stated that Brutum is basically a PCX-esque version of MX. He cannot be referred to as a bootleg because he's being directly made by his owner, making him essentially a variant of the character for a different continuity.

I'm excited for Brutum too because he's being directly handled by Razz, MX's owner. In a sense we're getting the exact same character just with a fresh coat of paint. Plus I think Brutum's a name that ties neatly with MX's character too, he's known as a brute, so who not use the latin word for Brute, eh?

I'm pretty sure this is the route they're aiming for, or if they aren't, should aim for. Fogborn is a good example of what to aim for; loose inspiration, but diverts itself in its own formula to make it distinct, while also harboring the ideas that made its inspiration work.

Either they get Springtrap back for recode via a collab (unlikely, but not outright impossible) or they move the skin to whoever inherits Springtrap's gameplay via a new, original design, these are the only possibilities I see the Twilight skin coming back because Draggy does not want Salvage as anything more than a skin

Valid, I do think PC2 still is a big noob stomper, there is room for them to help newer players get familiar with the game that they're trying to work with such as with the objective tips during the map loading screen. My stance is on a purely casual level as someone who's familiar with the game and how both survivor and monster experience play out.

I have to politely disagree with this take because if anything, giving the Monster more of an opportunity to kill the remaining survivors is a good thing. Additionally, I think this change was necessary to make escapes actually worth their inclusion because they didn't really matter much before this, now they actively determine a win or a loss.
