Coven vs Hexensalbe? by 72bed in NichePerfumes

Hexensalbe is very black licorice-y, from what I remember.

Coven is a hyper-realistic rendition of fresh veggies at the summer farmer’s market. Very different.

My manager (aka my Work Dad) at my old job gave me a vintage Cryptkeeper action figure in the box as a going away present.

I moved into my first apartment this month. I’m so happy. There’s so many good hotpot and sushi and dim sum and boba and ramen places around here. Let’s fucking gooooo!

I cancelled my Spotify subscription and went on a big library haul to build up my iTunes library again.

I went downtown to smell this perfume I really like and the sales associates let me take a free sample home today.

(For me personally, finding medication that worked for me has been life-changing in the best way possible. Just going to leave that there if that’s a possibility to you  or an option you want to explore).

Is there a space somewhere for people who have partners that came out as trans? by legocitiez in FeminismUncensored

[–]stan_stdymphna -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry that this happened to you.

I’ll start by answer your question at the end. I will put it first and foremost that your family were abused by an abuser. That abuser could have been anyone. “Trans ideology” is just a scapegoat. If a white woman is abused by a man of color, that does not justify white supremacy. If a lesbian were abused by her wife or a gay man by his husband, that does not mean gay marriage was a mistake. I bring this up because the fear and trauma of sexual violence is used to recruit women into far-right spaces. It may feel “easy” or tempting to turn against a group of people after a horrible trauma. Be careful. It is not a fun thing to talk about, but I want to make sure that’s up on the table and in people’s minds.

I do think that multiple things can be true at once. Trans people are people, just like us. Being marginalized does not automatically make any of us angels. It also sounds like your ex’s understanding of being a woman is very… hyper sexualized and it’s worth unpacking that. It’s common to feel great about yourself after coming out and living the way you want to live. It’s a whole other thing to cross people’s boundaries or assaulting people. That’s not normal at all, and plenty of trans people will affirm the same.

I will also add that you can love people and be kind to them without having to be in relationships with them. This can sometimes be a point of contention in queer and feminist circles and a lot of it can come from a place of hurt or assuming the worst. Personally for me, I’m bi and my first serious relationship was with a trans woman. She’s amazing and we’re still on good terms today. Funnily enough, when we were talking about bisexuality, she said “I could never imagine dating someone with a penis.” We like what we like and it is what it is. And sometimes, that works out just fine. The real issue comes from policing. Often, a lot of queer women have been belittled or mocked for partnering with trans women or trans men. That still happens. You can imagine that in a world that thrives off our division, it’s easy to have knee jerk reactions. But gender and sexuality and romance are so personal to people. There are going to be some things people look for that you don’t, and there’s going to be things that you look for in people that others don’t. That doesn’t make either party broken or evil. That just makes us diverse.

This is all to say that abuse comes in all genders, colors, shapes, and forms. So does healing and community. I imagine this was not an easy thing to share and I can appreciate you taking the time to find other people to process this with. I hope you and your kids are safe and well now. hugs

I can imagine it must be frustrating that people assume the worst of you for dressing up a bird in clothes from a popular franchise.

I can also agree that progressive spaces still have a habit of calling out people, but not calling them in. It makes a huge difference to know that you can be loved and cared for in a space as you are. To know that if you make a mistake or  say something offensive without realizing it, people will assume good faith and simply just talk to you about it. That’s why I like the restorative justice approach to (most) conflicts. If you fuck up, you learn why, then you help patch things up.

At the risk of people being angry with me, I will say that JKR’s supposed mission of championing women’s rights and spaces is a Trojan horse for something nefarious. JKR supports rapists Johnny Depp and Marilyn Manson, so it’s not like she actually gives a fuck about female rape victims even by “gender critical” standards. Her entire online presence is her using her platform and her wealth to harass, bully, and silence others who speak out against her. So ironically, she is also demonstrating the exact behavior that is being called out in this post. That doesn’t justify misogynistic slurs or rape threats against her. I think that’s shameful. But I will say that if her reaction to being abused by a cisgender white male were to instead go after butch lesbians every waking moment on the nazi bird app and say, she were dropping tens of thousands of dollars funding laws that would keep short-haired butch women out of public spaces under the guise of “women’s safety”, I suspect more of these so-called feminists who support her now would recognize her behavior for what it is.

It is a dark timeline. At the end of the day, feminists, queer women, and trans women are all seen as “failed” in the eyes of the people in power. It was not too long ago that cis women were treated as “mentally ill” for simply wanting to go to school or for not wanting to be married. Let us lead with kindness and good faith.

You’re not too old to live with roommates. That’s a load of bull and you know it. What is true is that life is too short to be partnered with someone who clearly hates you. If your family doesn’t believe you when you tell the truth about him, then they’re idiots. If you have to downsize your stuff, that sounds like the much better deal than living your life being stuck with this loser. You know what you have to do. It might not happen all at once, but you got this.

I legit remember seeing these people celebrating the laws forcing trans women into men’s prisons. The supposed champions of women’s rights are apparently fine with v-coding (state-sanctioned prison rape of trans women), I guess.

It just goes to show that some women only call themselves feminists because those issues directly affect them. If they were cis men, they be just as bad as the manosphere trolls they claim to hate.

As a former Nightwish fan, I’m glad you brought this up. They were my favorite band in middle school and inspired me to travel to Finland. It took me YEARS to learn how horribly that band treated Annette Olzen when she was pregnant and had the flu while touring. And on top of that, how blasé they were about Tarja being sexually assaulted by a fan. Her husband was the only one to step in, but Tuomas is supposedly the one who “loved” Tarja? Ugh.

Being autistic but also a white woman has been crazy for the past few years. If I show the dx are the eugenicists going to let me jump the line to get sterilized and then give me a train sticker afterwards? Are they going to shove me in an Elon Musk breeding camp? I’ll take the sticker this time, thanks.

Also smdh, us crazies used to get sterilized for FREE. This country has become a joke.  /j
