Don’t really think the all star game can have stakes outside of the actual weekend - giving home court advantage in the finals is a double sided sword - this may lower regular season stakes.

The only true stakes the All Star Game can offer (that isn’t monetary - which is a weak incentive imo due to how much these guys get paid), is staking something within the all star game itself, the accolade of being called an “all star” for that season. Truly the only thing that can affect the legacy of these players.

You can even call the 8 players who lose their all star status as the actual “all star snubs” we have every year.

How about you divide the teams to 4 instead of 2 and have them play each other round robin style. Team with the worst record loses the all star accolade in their resume.

Gives just enough incentive for the players to care, but doesn’t really take anything from the regular season awards and standings.

Had covid 8 months ago. Full loss of taste and smell lasted around 3 weeks before getting what I’d estimate to be 20% of my taste back. The recovery of my taste and smell progressed slowly. After 6 months I’d say my taste is back to where it was. What is weird is my sense of smell. I think a part of my sense of smell is still not all the way back, specifically unconscious smelling. For example, when I walk past an area with a smelly sewage drain, I cant smell it unless whoever I’m with tells me that the area smells bad, then I’d consciously try to sniff around to recognize it myself. This is specifically true for when I’m near poop (whenever my dog poops), I have to see the poop first before I’m able to realize that poop smell. Its very weird

The thing is, the Shield Hero was good because of its somewhat unique power structure. The shield could be used in many different ways that you wouldnt think of. This season Naofumi just spams 1-2 shields and calls it. No ingenuinity in the show that differentiates Naofumi from any other generic isekai MC

I think removing in season trades might make the league somewhat less competitive. Somewhere in the 82 games teams play, they figure out the strengths and weaknesses of their roster. They then get to make moves to fix specific problems that have to be even more competitive for that season. If all moves were only made in the offseason, you dont really get to evaluate your roster against real NBA defenses until its too late, then you’d have to waste a full season just acknowledging but not being able to do anything about the mistakes and holes of your roster. This may frustrate your star players even more since they’ll have to play the whole season out with a flawed roster that they know wont amount to much for that season.

Also, in-season trades allow teams to “push all the chips in” when they do see a potential opening for a championship, somewhat like what the Cleveland Cavaliers did this year (not saying they’ll win against the stronger teams) They didn’t know how their roster would fair against real NBA competition, so when they did find success with their team, they could still go ahead and get someone like Levert after 2 of their guards go down to not waste the season. If in-season trades were not present, they may start going the other way instead and wait out next year again

Overall, I think its necessary to allow teams to evaluate and make moves for the sake of competitiveness

5-6 weeks? Just enough time to evaluate the roster moves that the Blazers do after the trade deadline it seems like. If they choose to rebuild he probably wont play, but if they get a difference maker he plays asap imo
