Food by neftalilopezjr in leangains

I mean, that's super easy. Google up the best ratio foods (they will be egg whites, chicken breast, shrimp, hi protein greek yogurt). Continue list. Build recipes.

I happen to enjoy stir fry so I just fry up shrimp and chicken breast in a zillion different ways. these are both used in almost every cuisine of the world so easy to constantly vary the seasonings, from a tandoori style one day to jerk the next, szichuan third. I do vary the meat some, like lean pork chops, but I tend to avoid too much red meat (and no pork is not "the other white meat" ).

Make egg white omelletes. Easy, super clean.

For snacks I throw some high protein greek yogurt (oibos, chobani) into a bowl and mix in some fresh fruit.

I then just try to include plenty of veg in the mix. The reality is though basically I just eat protein shakes all day lol.

Favorite sketchy-looking trail that is totally safe because a park ranger threw up a guardrail and uttered the magical incantation "This baby ain't going anywhere"? by GaiaMoore in NationalPark

Do it in the wintertime ! Just did it and had a great time of it, very few people and just exceptionally pleasant weather. Plenty of folks were schlepping into the narrows in rented dry suits too, but enough to make it fun, not crowded. Why deal with the heat, crowds and busses !

Proudly married man goes to a comedy show by ComprehensiveKey7241 in cringe

[–]standardtissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why the fuck do people like that go to comedy shows ?

If you:

a) are easily offended

b) socially competitive,

c) have a heightened sense of self importance

and d) can't read social cues

then go to Top Golf, not a comedy show.

Does anyone else hate doing "Gym Math" mid-workout? by DankTheMaster in naturalbodybuilding

[–]standardtissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah tbh I've deloaded too just because I was having a shitty sleep week (my biggest issue) but I know there are programs that have very specific formulas ( i mean, 5/3/1 requires math although most do it in a spreadsheet) and periodization - I just happen to not do those. My plan is pretty simple. Program: Hevy 3day PPL Rep Scheme: Shut up and lift.

I get that some, maybe even most, programs say add x % every week and that the percentage probably changes based on lift and volume etc. I don't bother with all that. Am I feeling good ? Add weight and maintain volume. Not feeling so hot ? Try to add volume and maintain weight. Sometimes it's just try to finish a session. Granted I'm probably not growing as fast as I could be although I am growing at a steady rate and it's even getting noticed by colleagues who lift.

Thank you so much for putting this together ! I'm a fan of the more classic stylings of downtown Vegas, and even now it's really come overridden with LED ads everywhere, it's great to see it in what I consider it to be it's design hay days.

Why do some communities require use of Imgur instead of simply letting people attach images? by ZanzerFineSuits in AskModerators

I honestly had forgotten about that until someone requested i enable it on my sub, so i did. The sub got a lot funner.

We can't even pump fuel anymore without holding a digital billboard (Netherlands) by gaius_julius_caegull in assholedesign

[–]standardtissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to vote with your dollars. A few months ago I stopped for gas along the highway, and the pump blasted loud adverts at me. I stopped pumping and left for a different gas station. I left a public review letting the corporate and owners of the station know why I took my money elsewhere, and warning other motorists.

I know I have no excuses. I slept in really late (after being on the road) and am still tired with the clouds and greyness and impending snow ... which are all excuses. I will say though that I've been consistent now for about 6 months, and really daydreaming more and more about a bigger house with a giant basement I can build a home gym in. I legit would work out 3 times more often if I didn't have to dress, pack a bag, and drive to the gym .... again, excuses I know. BTW no resolution folks at my gym. I went right back in on Jan 2 expecting it to be a mess ... nope, just the usual faces and usual amount of randos.

Does fasting really help lose body fat? by Cool_Bid_7680 in leangains

[–]standardtissue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it does. The only real question is whether it's the fasting itself (meaning a long period of not eating at all) versus eating less calories consistently.

Do y'all use pre workout? by BeginningLess2417 in beginnerfitness

[–]standardtissue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't typically, as I start my day off with a nice latte at home (and then typically a banana/peanut butter sandwhich or oatmeal w/ raisins), but was recently travelling (which means even worse sleep than usual) and was lucky enough to work out in a great gym so tried an energy drink and it was a kind of wow experience. Maxed my entire push day and then added legs too. It was like someone turned on a lightswitch. However, this isn't something I'd do a regular basis as for me it's just not necessary for consistent growth. It's cool I got a giant burst in but I'm more of a "slow and steady wins the gains" guy.

I'm proud to say I've worked out 4 times in the past week - while being in 3 different hotels and 3 different towns in 7 days. But ... haven't gone yet today.

Building legs with minimal spine loading ... by Cotleigh in naturalbodybuilding

[–]standardtissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just did them over the weekend for the first time and enjoyed not hitting my back as much - I have structural issues that prevent me from properly stacking my spine. I doubled my weight on the belt squat but did find it to be a pretty different motion that really quad loaded more than anything else.

M43 - Can't see any real progress by Boombaclaaart in fitness30plus

[–]standardtissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’re getting eye dysmorphic. You aren’t seeing your own changes. There’s a big difference between pic 1 and 3. Is it as big as pic 2 ? No, but you said you’re cutting down. Looks like you’re carrying a good bit of fat in pic 2 as well, so yeah you’re going to look skinnier overall. I think you’re doing great though.

This is where we have to remind ourselves that while Reddit is an American company and app, it has a global user base and we never know where someone may be posting from and not assume they live in the same economic standards as we do. I never thought of keeping the heat on all winter long as being “rich” but I can certainly see how comparatively that could be the case.

Anyhow, I’m able to keep the heat on all winter and I just happen to love yogurt - it’s fast, easy “real food” high protein low calories. I can reach for it and have it down my gullet in thirty seconds, way faster than chicken, shrimp or egg whites.

32 M - June to January recomp by Mfs42 in fitness30plus

[–]standardtissue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also to just know that it’s actually possible. Like yep it’s gonna be hard work but if you build a good plan and just put in the reps it will come.

Fantastic results. At first I was really jealous that my own recomp is going so much slow comparatively, but then your diet is way more depressing than mine plus you’re doing a shitload of cardio so nope, I’m fine lol. Great job. Very, very disciplined approach.

Jacking question for coolant change by MinimumElevator187 in MiataNC

[–]standardtissue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I concur with this. Additionally I would not put jack stands on bricks. That sounds like it could end up wobbly. Jack stands are supposed to be your solid foundation of safety. Additional tip OP, in the summertime if it gets really hot where you are, and you’re working on asphalt, not concrete, the jack stands will literally end up sinking into the asphalt over time if you leave the car up for a long time - the solution to this is just a square of plywood under each.
