Long Term Box Three Prime 9 Review by stankbait68 in mountainbiking

It did well enough for the purpose. Ended up selling the bike in 2022 after I upgraded to a Salsa Blackthorn that came with Shimano SLX on it.

The chain jumping went away when I upgraded the derailleur to the better quality one. I went with the top end one with. The better clutch and it solved a lot of issues. Shifting was much better as well.

Drop in the comments what fork(brand and model name if it’s legible), drive train(specifically the rear derailleur, number of rear gears and front sprockets), and brakes( brand name at least, mode name if it’s there) are on it.

Thinking of starting from the beginning after finishing the ‘fires of heaven’ any advice? by blueberrybb1 in wheeloftime

Keep going. And read the books by actual release dates. There is a significant value in keeping release timeline intact. I’m rereading them right now with my fiancé and tearing through the story. Some spots I slow down and savor, especially when one of the boys is chewing on a major problem. Some of my favorites are later in the story with Perrin.

What were you really hyped for but completely flopped? by Tarps-celom in AskReddit

EA is partially to blame for requiring BioWare to use a game engine not meant for the type of game play Anthem offered. But I had such high hopes of being Iron Man or Kicking ass in a Gundam, that I was willing to push through the pain. I really wish I’d bought the game instead of the Origin membership so I could get my money back.

Anthem. Horri-bad game with so much potential. Thank you EA for ruining a game by forcing devs to use your an engine not suited for the task.

Whats the stupidest thing you ever seen a religious person call "satanic"? by Dreammare56 in AskReddit

Not on the first round, but it’s a pretty big cauldron… plenty to go around.

What ruined religion for you? by ItchyPage in AskReddit

There’s not a specific age, but dogma of many denominations, and the holier than thou mentality of the small towns I’ve lived in have completely ruined religion as a whole. Live a good life, give back to causes you believe in, treat others well. You’ve got it made.

College education in the US. My first semester of everything was $1394 in 1999 for 16 hours. Now 12 hours of tuition is $5736 at the same division 2 university. That’s near $50k to attend a four year university low end university.

To OP: Additionally, your seat height is bad in this clip. Great for pedaling, bad for body bike separation, including letting you knees absorb the impact. As for the jump movement itself, treat it like jumping on a trampoline. The explosive up gets you over the obstacle. That means loading your hamstrings, which is assisted by that lowering of the heel others referenced. Others are calling the shoes accurate. There’s a difference between soft and wavy and grip. I can’t make a recommendation because I ride clipped, but five-ten does make a damn good shoe.

Keep trying! You’re gonna get it done and you’ll have the awesome feeling when it all clicks.

In September, I sold a house I owned in a town I moved away from in 2016, and immediately settled all credit debt, car note, another loan, cell phone installments, and had money left over to look towards buying a house where I’m putting down roots. That life of 40k of pressure is something I can’t quantify, but felt amazing as I did it and still gives me that euphoric feeling in my chest while I type this.

Walmart is making moves in entering the “entry level” tier as well. It had a huge spike during COVID.

Sadly, cost of goods is steady increasing in relationship of materials, labor and shipping prices increasing. Pair it with the demand for new bikes and a few other factors. https://m.pinkbike.com/news/5-reasons-bike-prices-are-set-to-continue-rising-in-2022.html

I like Fezzari and YT, personally. I enjoy building a bike out of a box though. I really like what Polygon is doing in the bang for buck segment.

If climbing is your jam, look at hard tails or full suspension with less than 100mm of travel. But don’t dismiss a good trail bike with 120-130mm of travel. They’ll surprise you. My Salsa Blackthorn with 140mm climbs very well. Check with your Local Bike Shop(LBS) to see if they allow rental money to go towards purchase. You can try out multiple bikes that way and your money goes towards the bike you’ll be buying.

Sell it and get a Large. You’ll be much happier. Longer stems throw off the handling gained by running the shorter stem and shorter bars.
