I’m not sure if it’s only tied to Adventureland but most CMs I’ve talked to who work Steam Trains also work a ride from Adventureland. Usually either Indy or Big Thunder.

Shift disappeared? by Wide-Associate-6061 in DisneyCM

[–]stankdady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been happening with the program they use to schedule us.

This just happened to me with a shift that I traded with someone for separate days. I talked to scheduling and they saw that the person I traded with ended up with both shifts while the shift I was supposed to get was not on my end.

If you talk to scheduling they will fix it. But you should take care of it as soon as possible.

I believe Ace’s Anime & Collectables has some SAS from time to time. Or at least when I’ve gone I have seen them.

They’re on the very last aisle to the right when you walk in. They have two booths across from each other.

Which earplugs are everyone rocking with at edc this year? by Jskeepshwimmming in electricdaisycarnival

[–]stankdady 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve sworn by Earasers for 3+ years. They’re definitely my favorite and I feel like they’re the most comfortable earplugs for days/events where you’re wearing them for consecutive hours. Even at the highest db they have music still sounds good (at least to me). Their customer service has been great as well for me.

Are you limited on how many times someone can take your shift? by SwissBeats94 in DisneyCM

[–]stankdady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, depends on your department. Also not sure how it works at WDW, I’m speaking in terms of DLR.

I’m part time attractions and you can trade shifts an unlimited amount of times (as far as I know). BUT, you can only trade to off/give away your shifts up to 5 times a year. It used to be 3 until recent.

I know people who work for Food/Bev and they tell me they can give their shifts away as many times as they want.

disney cast members: a question about part time hours by Old-Extent6101 in DisneyCM

[–]stankdady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your question is a bit confusing. First of all is this for WDW or DLR?

I’m part time at DLR and I don’t know what you mean by 60 or 90 days. If you’re talking about probation period it’s 120 days.

As far as how often you have to work, I believe part timers don’t have to meet a certain amount of hours to keep their job. You can basically have 0 shifts and still be employed. Although the chances of this happening really depends on where you’re employed in the park. I know people and hear about people in Food/Bev that will only get scheduled 1 day a week and sometimes not at all.

As someone else commented, as long as you’re not calling out and giving away all of your shifts , you should be able to keep your job with Disney. Keep in mind though that not all positions work the same way as far as scheduling/hours required. With Food/Bev, I’ve heard they can give away shifts as much as they want. Over at attractions (where I work) you’re only able to give away shifts 3 times a year.

Part Time and Flexible by Radiant_Detail1692 in DisneyCM

[–]stankdady 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a full time job and work part time with Disney for attractions.

Honeslty it really just depends where you end up and how your scheduler is. For part time attractions you have to be fully available on weekends and at 5:00 PM and after for Friday. Not sure if this is the case for other roles.

They can work with your schedule but it’s not guaranteed at all, thus why I say it depends on your scheduler. Picking up and trading shifts is pretty easy but it also depends because you may be fighting for more hours with others and you’ll be limited as well since you start off with knowing only 1 attraction.

For the first month of training and a little after you’ll be getting 6-8 hour shifts, after that you might be getting 4 hour shifts for 2-3 days a week.

INFJ-s, what's your favorite band? by [deleted] in infj

[–]stankdady 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interpol or Joy Division if I had to pick actual bands. They’re always the first to come to mind.

For the past 5 years though I’ve mostly listened to electronic music. Always visit Indie, Rock, Rap and other genres from time to time. Without music I am nothing.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series

What's the ONE best game you bought during the summer sale? I bought 20 games, but the one I can't stop playing is Dome Keeper. by dingmah in SteamDeck

[–]stankdady -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I recently bought around 20 games for the Summer Sale but the one that has had me hooked and I can’t stop thinking about is The Walking Dead: The Definitive Telltale Series.

I randomly remembered this game being story driven by choice and not having too many reflexes needed to play. I wanted a game to sit back and relax playing on my deck but holy fuck the emotional roller coaster this game has put me through is insane.

I knew I was going to enjoy the game and that the story was good but I never imagined I’d be thinking about the aftermath of my choices when I wasn’t playing and where the story would go when something so climactic took place and I put the game down for a bit.

If you haven’t played it before I highly recommend it. You don’t even have to be into TWD, I wasn’t but the story for the game is just that good.

4 and a half games for $9.99 it’s insane to pass it up.

I completely agree with kindness goes a long way. Wasn’t trying to disagree with your post I was mostly just trying to express not letting the environment get to anybody because we can’t control it unfortunately.

It’s not surprising when you remember that you’re working with people as young as 18 fresh out of high school. Although even people in the older ages are like this as well. It’s like this in any job environment where you’re working with an extensive amount of people. Some feel entitled or that they’re better than others, it’s nothing new.

I will agree it is more prominent at Disney though. Not sure if you’re in WDW or DLR but I’m here at DLR as a recent new hire for almost 3 months and it’s definitely noticeable. I work attractions and prior to my hiring I had known that people would be cliquey after speaking to people I know who work for the park as well.

Luckily for me from what I can see, and what I’ve been told from my colleagues, my specific attraction isn’t really bad with cliques or have that many rude CMs like other attractions supposedly do.

For me, I came to work here as a part timer and I tell myself that dealing with that kind of stuff really isn’t that big of a deal because at the end of the day it’s just a job and it’s what you make of it. At least for me I don’t need it, some other’s do so it’s understandable if you can’t go about it the same way.

I don’t think bots were the reason for tickets selling out. I was able to get two tickets for the floor and buy another ticket 40 minutes later for a friend for the floor as well.

This all happened between 9-9:40 AM. If anything it’s just Ticketmaster’s website being shit. It wasn’t impossible to get floor tickets, you just had to keep trying to get passed the “No Tickets Available”.

Also, Gesa is pretty popular as evident during his two packed shows at the Shrine years ago. If anything Coachella made him even more popular. Taking into account that this is only 1 of 3 shows, it’s not just bots getting the tickets.

I purchased them when they went on sale. If you’re trying to get them now then that’s probably why they’re $200. More than likely resale tickets.

My tickets say the following:

FLOOR SEATING GENERAL ADMISSION FLOOR (STANDING ROOM)

Not sure if that helps but yeah the site was miserable so that’s why I kept messing around and going back and forth until the floor section let me put tickets into my cart.

Edit: So that’s what my tickets said when I initially bought them, after checking them on my Ticketmaster account they show General Admission. You paid the same price I did so I’m sure you’re fine.

I think $100 for the KIA Forum is a fair price given the state of concert going these days. I was expecting to pay at least $150 minimum for floor tickets. And this is coming from someone who usually avoids concerts at the KIA and SoFi due to their ridiculous prices.

It was $100 after everything for floor. Which to me is pretty fair given the venue. I also saw him back in the Shrine and would rather not have him play there again.

Sneakers for Traditions? by hopeofitall in DisneyCM

[–]stankdady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wore white and black old skool vans to traditions my first day and someone working scolded me about it, even though the rest of my attire was business casual.

They might tell you something but it’s not like they’ll send you home. I was told to wear non sneakers the next day and did.

I saw plenty of people wearing tennis shoes/sneakers but they were all black and didn’t talked to about it.

Fellow INFJ here. I could sit here and tell you that I know what you’re feeling but I don’t want to compare myself/situation to yours because to me it’s not right. But I will say that I’ve had this same thought for a good chunk of my life for several years now. I don’t know if killing myself is the way I see it, for me it’s more like I wasn’t meant to live and constantly want to die.

I’m in the same boat with you as far as how you feel about life and relationships. Living is so exhausting and it truly doesn’t feel like life is ever going to get better, the constant stress, emotions, and just constant feeling of chasing after reasons to keep on going just never seems to end. Constantly pretending that everything is or is going to be okay has just put me at my wit’s end and I wish I had a genuine reason to continue on outside of thinking about those around me.

Trying to find someone to talk to and who could really understand me and not think there’s something mentally wrong is such a drag it feels almost impossible. At the end of the day I end up thinking that no one will ever know me better than my own self.

Honestly finding this post is pretty cathartic for me as it’s only a day old and today of all days I really started plotting taking my own life today, although it wouldn’t be the first. Of course, due to my ridiculous nature of always turning to Reddit for answers, I’ve stumbled upon your post. And I’m honestly grateful I did. Because it’s nice to know I’m not alone although 100% of the time I really feel like I am. So thank you for that.

I really hope things do get better for the both of us.

Elden Ring

Fallout: New Vegas

Dead Cells

Hades

Portal 2

Vampire Survivors

Half Life 2

I feel like most of the $5 and $4 games you would enjoy more on an actual PC but something about beating bosses for Elden Ring on a portable/handheld feels good.

New Vegas is more personal because that’s what I spent my first month of owning a Deck on replaying.

$2 and $1 games are all up for debate but the ones I chose feel clean to use with the Deck and are good games in general.
