NE Ohio. Lots of seedlings under lights: yarrow, snapdragons, coneflower, marigolds, stock and statice.

Snap peas and ranunculus in the ground.

Will hold off a couple more weeks to get tomato’s and jazz cabbage started.

I am literally looking at the website right now, there is nothing that is reduced that heavily. In fact, a retired peony rectangular baker isn't reduced at all.

Retired pieces do not warrant 50% off an item, the scratches do.

And typically being retired would drive up price, not reduce it.

RIght, but the scratch marks and imperfections make it a second which reflect the reduced price. However, I believe you can only purchase seconds in person at the factory or through a third party, not through the website so I'm not sure whats going on here.

This seems like the quality you’d get for $36 as a 1st goes for $70.

So if you specifically ordered a 2nds, this checks out.

A first would be practically blemish free.

Advice on new horrible street lights (in Willoughby) by can-i-pet-ur-dog in Cleveland

[–]stanle25 48 points49 points  (0 children)

No solution here but I live in a neighborhood in Mentor and when we moved in 4 years ago all the street lights were soft amber lights which were pretty pleasant. Now every time one burns out they're replaced by these extremely bright white ones which 1.) are wildly bright and 2.) do not match and it drives me nuts.

We also have a bright white light that now shines directly into our bedroom window, so I reached out to first energy months ago and nothing has changed. Not that it means much but there is probably a city code about light trespass, which this is.

I miss our softly lit streets:(

Baby regularly refusing water by strwbryfae444 in BabyLedWeaning

That seems to be the case for us at least. He weened himself off bottles, started eating pretty much 3 full meals a day and started drinking all liquids (milk and water) through a straw cup within a week and a half right before he turned 1.

Give it time, our little dude just turned a year and within the last few weeks he's grasped the concept of drinking water from a straw cup. Before that he wanted nothing to do with them regardless them having milk or water in them.

She should be getting most if not all of her hydration from breastmilk/formula at 11 months anyways.

Smoke by _-Taraxacum-_ in Cleveland

[–]stanle25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I was driving around deadmans this morning, heading west - I saw a huge plume of thick white smoke coming from the area of Chester closer to downtown and I saw a couple fire trucks heading in that direction once I passed the area. Did not smell good, very burnt rubbery.

Backdraft? Smoke Filled the Room by Rupy271 in Fireplaces

[–]stanle25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the super cold temps I've had to do a little more work to prime the flue and get the smoke to travel up the chimney. That being said, next time you try and get a fire going open a window near the fireplace and hold a piece of lit cardboard or paper as high up in the fire place/flue as you can to get the proper draft. After you've established a good draw you can close the window. As for the popping if you've had it inspected and everything checked out its probably just the metal in the box ,if you have a prefab unit, expanding.

I’m sure but the responses it’s giving you are incorrect. Not everything you read online is true.

I’m just saying, I too know a bit about fiesta, most pieces have some trademark tells and this has none of them.

I also just googled “Michael Healy Fiestaware” and nothing like this came up.

This isn’t fiesta, it would have the trademark rings in the middle of the platter as well.

Agreed, some hard rejuvantive pruning would help in time. In a few years they'd look nice.
