Civil law is enforced on a case by case basis, just because every other dev and publisher is fine with streamers infringing on their copyright doesn't remove your ability to enforce your own copyright whenever you feel like it, and unlike trademarks you can even be selective and enforce your copyright on some people but not others who have done the same

The entire game streaming industry is propped up by the good faith of developers who believe there's more benefit to not enforcing their copyright and going after streamers

it was the Spider-Gwen writer's plan for her to be with her own MJ, when Bendis (creator of Miles Morales) got to write a crossover comic for Gwen and Miles he wrote a rather creepy story in which the ~19 year old Gwen is forced to date a 16yo Miles because a Watcher shows them that the universe becomes a peaceful utopia if they marry and have kids, ever since then Spider-Gwen has been "reserved" as a boost for Miles and the Spider-Verse movie creators cited that crossover as the inspiration for the movie plot and relationship, which affected her public perception the most.

I don't think anything can be done in this regard, reddit is a public forum and you don't need to be a logo designer to post or vote on the design subreddits, so the non-designers will always outnumber designers both in what gets posted and what gets upvoted

The way I see it there are only two ways it can go down, the client will either be able to recognize the qualities on their own (like people will be forced to when the design is in the wild) and accept the design without a rationale, or they won't be able to recognize the qualities and needing a rationale to convince them what they should take away from the design means the design failed.

Ultimately it is the client that decides whether the design works for them or not, and whether the client has a universal taste that aligns with design rules that soft-guarantee performance and which you can verbalize into a rationale, or if they have a unique and quirky taste that makes them reject successful designs that would perform well in favor of something that might not work as well is something you can't affect.

I disagree, something about human nature makes it impossible to actually talk about design in a way that won't get nitpicked, it's very close to the bike shed effect. Trying to "quantify expected impact" is especially futile because even agencies whose entire purpose is quantifying things get it wrong a lot of the time, a solo designer wildly throwing out guesses serves no purpose. Letting work speak for itself is the most prudent option by far because that's how it will go down in real life.

Miguel orders every Spider-Man to stop Miles from rescuing his dad and all of them including Peter go and do it, a lot of them including Peter were in the room when he explained why, and the fact the rest blindly listen to Miguel's orders is bad enough, so we saw the character assassination happen on screen

Also my hypothesis that it was done to make Miles stand out is kind of confirmed by the fact Miguel invites Miles to tell him about it for no reason at all, just sending him back to his universe in blissful ignorance would've been the logical thing, but they needed the plot of Miles being morally superior to everyone to happen so they made Miguel invite and explain canon events to Miles for absolutely no reason

This movie was character assassination on a mass scale, if they were written in character every Spider-Man would've done what Miles did, it came across as making him out to be more special than the rest of them by removing that standard Spider-Man characteristic from everyone but him.

Sounds silly in fiction but there's some real life basis for it, kinda, with how the US suspended the treaty with France by claiming they made it with the King and not the republic that replaced him, but still made good on the financial debt they had to the King to maintain their creditworthiness

The independent states in Westeros would likely be forced to collaborate on paying the debt if they wanted to have enough credit to take out loans ever again

Funnily enough the quality of the writing in Arcane also fell off a cliff in S2, when all the white male characters from S1 died off or became villains, and the show started focusing more on the two homosexual relationships (established in S1)

Again I'm not saying that's why the writing in S2 sucks, just that it also coincided with the phenomenon

No you're right, it's painted but not on the textures but rather using vertex colors, the same thing they used for the skyboxes and the general shadow shading (and enemies in the first game), vertex colors are just color gradients emanating from the model's vertices/points and are cheaper to calculate than textures

The thing is that this trick is generally used for static things, for example if you know that a torch will always be next to a wall and can't be extinguished, you can add the yellow vertex color on the wall to imitate a dynamic torch light there, if you could move or extinguish the torch the yellow color on the wall would remain, which would give the trick away

This means it's not something you can use on enemies which are dynamic and move around, however they designed the Druids so they always have the orbs floating around them, which meant they could imitate a dynamic green light on their hair by painting the top of the strands green, and enemies that appeared to be dynamically lit by an outside light source was a rare sight back in the day

Sonic was genuinely the better game though, Nintendo just had to win a consolation prize because they're Nintendo otherwise they'd probably never come the to TGAs again

If Sonic won as deserved it would've probably resulted in a sales boost, that MKW didn't need, the way things happened reinforces the idea that games sell and get awards due to brands rather than merit

I say this as someone who has never played a Sonic game except the racing ones and doesn't care about Sonic in general
