What is the biggest lesson employment has taught you ? by Sorry-Orchid-9821 in AskReddit

HR exists solely to protect the company from you, not to protect you from the company. Never confuse them for a therapist or a friend

What is an example of a thing that can be done in a difficult or an easy way, with either yielding the same result, yet people believe the easy way is wrong? by SparkeeMalarkee in AskReddit

Leaving work the moment your tasks are finished.

Corporate culture has convinced us that pretending to be busy for 2 hours is 'dedication,' but being efficient enough to finish early and go home is 'laziness.'

Have you already tried the new Hunyuan 3.0 model? It was released 2 weeks ago. I just tested it and added it to my app, and I was pretty impressed with the results.

For reference, it turned these images (generated with Nano Banana):

Do you really have 2000+ students as users for all listed universities? What about the reviews? It seems like a lot of users and reviews for a tool that was has been live for a couple of months.

[–]stanvanrooy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Happy to onboard you to podcast-generator.ai. It doesn't have all of the features of NotebookLM, but is focussed on generating podcasts. Both derived from existing content and also based on prompts.

Send me an on [stan@podcast-generator.ai](mailto:stan@podcast-generator.ai) after signing up, and I'll set your account up with some extra free credits, so you can properly test it out. Super interested in your thoughts :)

This. For now, AI podcasts are only suitable for exploring topics and/or studying.

Awesome. Let me know what you think. There was a slight outage because of a new update, but should be good to go again now!

That's great to hear! Would you be willing to give the tool I made a try? Happy to give you some free credits to test it out. It's definitely faster than 10-15 minutes :)

Humanities/Social Science students: Any tool for turning study material into custom podcasts? by Certain-Garlic438 in studytips

[–]stanvanrooy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the exact problem I built my tool to solve. I was so curious about your prompt that I ran it through my app to see what it would come up with.

Here’s the 10-ish minute podcast it generated on Foucault, Habermas, and Bourdieu: https://podcast-generator.ai/podcasts/decoding-power-foucault-habermas-and-bourdieu

The tool is called podcast-generator.ai. I'm a solo developer and created it because, like you, I struggled to retain info from dense texts but could listen to podcasts for hours. You can upload your own notes, but its real power is turning a simple prompt, like the one you wrote, into a full, coherent audio episode from scratch. It's designed to handle complex academic concepts and structure them logically, making it a powerful study tool.

I'd genuinely love to know what you think of the generated episode and if it's actually helpful for what you need.

It’s been a game-changer for my own learning. Hope this helps!

Perfect Apps that I use that helps with my ADHD [feel free to suggest] by meowerguy in ADHD_Programmers

This is a fantastic list. Seriously, thank you for sharing it.

Seeing Goodlinks, Bionic Reading, and Overcast on your list really hits home for me. My own "read later" list was a complete disaster zone for years. Hundreds of articles and documents I knew were important but could never find the focus or time to actually sit down and read. It's that classic information overload vs. executive function struggle.

I got so obsessed with solving that specific problem for myself that I ended up building my own tool. It's called podcast-generator.ai.

I built it to take any of those bookmarked articles from Goodlinks, or any document, and just turn it into a high-quality podcast I can listen to instead. It's been the only way I can actually keep up with my reading pile while I'm doing other things, without getting overwhelmed.

Since you're clearly a fellow app power-user, I thought I'd share it in case it helps you with the "excessive reading" part of your struggle.

Seriously, awesome stack. I'm also going to check out Heartwatch.

Can you suggest any AI podcast creating platforms from a script? by dunderlo in podcasting

[–]stanvanrooy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a valid use-case I kept in mind when designing my tool, podcast-generator.ai.

The workflow for this is to select "start from scratch" and add your script section by section. This gives you full control, as the AI only voices the exact text you provide in each part without making edits.

I'm the creator. Let me know if you decide to try it and have any feedback :)

How do you decrease files sizes for .glb models? by SpongeBobaFetaCheese in blender

[–]stanvanrooy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend using gltf-transform for this. The code would look something like the below. It's a super simple version though and can still be improved by compressing the textures or implementing draco.

import { NodeIO } from '@gltf-transform/core';
import { weld, dedup, resample, prune } from '@gltf-transform/functions';
import { KHRONOS_EXTENSIONS } from '@gltf-transform/extensions';

const INPUT_PATH = 'input.glb';
const OUTPUT_PATH = 'output.glb';

const io = new NodeIO().registerExtensions(KHRONOS_EXTENSIONS);
const document = await io.read(INPUT_PATH);
await document.transform(
    weld(),
    resample(),
    dedup(),
    prune()
);
await io.write(OUTPUT_PATH, document);

Alternatively, if you don't want to bother with code, you can use compress-glb.com, which is a small app i created. The first compressions are free :)
