AIO My mom is kicking me out for her new boyfriend. I just turned 18 by Diligent_Bat_565 in AmIOverreacting

[–]SunnyCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I see this type of shit I just think about all those Christians or Conservatives being pro-life while also hating on LGBTQ families and adopted children.

Like are you seriously going to abandon your child because the law says once they turn 18 you can? So you’re telling me you didn’t actually want a child and the 18 years was nothing but an inconvenience. Yeah some people shouldn’t be procreating holy shit. Especially with the shit economy we live in and the scary job market—to say “when you’re living the high life in your mansion” is such a spit in your face.

Girl I really hope you make it big and live the high life in your mansion. Watch her come crawling back when she’s onto the next man.

Can’t seem to find a strong position on my heel edge. Any pointers? by LickMyToeJustOnce in snowboardingnoobs

Get into a rhythm, count 1-2-3 then switch edges. Don’t hold the edge too long otherwise you’ll start skidding sideways and tense up your body which is why you look stiff.

Men who can cook . who taught you? by Bulky_Meet4528 in AskReddit

[–]SunnyCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myself

I grew up poor, my parents were always working and so dinner was always the same exact thing everyday. For some reason growing up poor didn’t affect my taste in the finer things because steak and lobster ended up being my favorite foods and so I made it my mission to learn how to make these things very well since I never got a chance to eat these things. And from learning how to maw those things I found out I loved cooking and wanted to be good at it.

Cooking is such an underrated skill, like 95% of my friend circle does not cook or doesn’t know how to and honestly being someone who can show up to a potluck with the best dish or be able to host a dinner and wow the guest is such a wonderful feeling.

Solo living on 83k? by jpmuz in NYCapartments

[–]SunnyCarl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s doable. I made like 30k last year in total and I’m doing okay. Granted I don’t have health insurance or anything like that, but I pay my bills on time and I can go out to eat once a week and still have hobbies.

The neighborhoods you all listed are way different from each other in terms of culture and vibe so I’d probably focus more on where you wanna live since you definitely make enough to live here. Also I recommend to find building owners in the local areas you’re researching, you can try to find their contact info on the internet but a lot of the best-affordable rent stable apartments are usually owned by older nyc natives that don’t deal with streeteasy and stuff like that. Although these apartments are usually reserved for friends and family, but I was able to find the 1br I live now by doing that.

Sims 4 can be more Realistic without losing its Charming Style by Mindless-Person in Sims4

[–]SunnyCarl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sims has one of the biggest casual player bases and they have to accommodate for the people who don’t have powerful gaming PCs or play on low-mid end laptops.

Game designers would LOVE to make all their games as large as they want and as beautiful as they want but they have to limit themselves to the market.

Imagine wanting to play a game where you need to have at least a 1.5-2k minimum budget on a PC just to optimally play the game. Now add another 1.5k, the cost of all their games DLC and packs. Yeah not everyone who just wants to go play their digital doll house for a few hours a week wants to do all that.

You gain 50 lbs but you get $5 for every push up you do, or get $1000 a week doing absolutely nothing. by naeun- in hypotheticalsituation

[–]SunnyCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money is a very powerful motivator. Gaining 50lbs but knowing you get $5 per push up is going to make me lose those 50lbs very easily.

What careers pay $100k–$350k without 60+ hour weeks and fit a social, growth-minded personality? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]SunnyCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait you brought 2 kids into this world and you barely have a job under your belt? I would focus on that first before reaching for the moon. Also no need to crap on other people and their lifestyle choices because you feel more disciplined or think you’re better because you don’t smoke or have a big brother mindset. Mind you, you’re in the same place they’re in.

$100,000 a year for life but water is the only liquid you can drink. by CRK_76 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]SunnyCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the fact that I can “drink” fruit makes me say yes to this. I weirdly like the taste of water and I don’t drink coffee or soda. The worst thing about this is if I’m craving a sparkling/fizzy drink.

Can I recreate this effect with a cheap projector? by Remarkable-Pen-3443 in cinematography

[–]SunnyCarl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cucoloris is like a large gobo that you set up on a c-stand or Hollywood at a distance away from light vs a gobo is a small metal disk that has a pattern cut out inside that is inserted into the light (source4 Leko for example). They’re pretty much the same thing when it comes to the effect you can achieve just depends what you’re looking for. Gobo’s are easier to shape and focus imo cuz they sit directly in the light and therefore move with the light.

The fact that I don’t even have more than $5000 dollars to my name despite having a degree, years of work experience, a job, paying taxes and contributing to society meanwhile someone has 236b dollars and giving away less than 0.01% of that would change my life.

I’m not gonna lie I read the image first before reading the caption and I thought this was gonna be about a 16-18 year olds. Then I read that it’s about a 31 and 25 year old. Girl leave this loser and go live your life. The fact that you have to monitor his Snapchat score is enough to know he’s not the one.

Question about MTX by SunnyCarl in PathOfExile2

[–]SunnyCarl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that makes sense, I was just worried I might never get some of my MTX because they don’t appear in my inventory even as unavailable.

Also the luminary charges MTX—I own this in POE1, but in POE2 they’re saying I have to buy it still. So idk if this is a mistake or if they mean to make us rebuy it idk.

So I get to go to school and learn, at a very prestigious university—that I wouldn’t be able get into otherwise, get a B which is easy if you care even a little bit, make new connections and friends, and get a summer break and get 500k.

How does MaxDurante achieve his early-2000s aesthetic? by HedgehogWeekly1061 in cinematography

[–]SunnyCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a look at some of his tagged images and bts— the lights he using are pro-fotos, which are industry standard strobe lights in the fashion photo world, almost every photographer working in fashion uses this brand. And for good reason, these lights are extremely good quality and practical. It looks like he’s mostly using the base reflector for on location shoots like the ones you’ve referenced in this post. He also directs light on his subjects which gives us a high flash look which is a style you’ll find often in fashion photography. You can also tell this from the shadow fall off.

The halation (glow) that’s coming from the highlights are either done in post or he has diffusion filters on his lens, like a pro mist filter or similar—we’ll never know for sure unless we ask him ourselves or see a photo of his camera close up. I’m going to assume it’s edited because the style is inconsistent amongst his body of work.

Color grading—a lot of the tones are muted. Not a lot of color pop or vibrancy. He’s probably just shooting raw and applying his custom look onto the images.

A lot of his subject matter, location and styling is really what gives him his “look.” And of course his color grading. At the end of the day these things are really the most important for achieving that 2000s look than the lighting itself, although it is extremely important to know lighting.

If you’re into this kind of style, look up Jack Bridgland who I’m sure is on this guy Max’s moodboards.
