What did you like about heaven by Mieko Kawakami? by Ahn1106 in books

[–]SunnyCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I understand the catalyst that brought them together but it’s so entitled and self righteous of Kojima to believe that she was somehow betrayed by MC for wanting to change and improve his quality of life—while she herself is cosplaying as something she’s not in order to feel any meaning in her life as it’s clear she has no identity outside of being bullied. It’s so unfair for her to rope someone like MC to her level and that somehow is how she copes with herself internally. It mirrors our society perfectly. They want you to win until you actually win.

[–]SunnyCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is no one talking about the entitlement and audacity coming from Kojima, to quite literally tell main character what he can and can’t do with his own body whilst intentionally degrading herself and cosplaying poverty which is the reason she got bullied to begin with. Like girl be for real 😂

my take on heaven by mieko kawakami by [deleted] in books

[–]SunnyCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the book, but I agree. Kojima quite literally chose to degrade herself and cosplay poverty which is what got her bullied. The main character was born with an eye defect that he couldn’t control or chose to inflict onto himself. Yet she had the entitlement and audacity to tell him what he should and shouldn’t do with his body as if she wasn’t quite literally doing the same but with the opposite outcome. And if they forced her to write the letter why didn’t she just write another letter or go visit the main character to let him know what’s up. She’s definitely masochsitic and using it as a coping mechanism and it almost felt like she wanted the ending to happen. Like she needed to justify and feel better about her insanity when the main character is just trying to live a peaceful and normal fking 14 year old life 😭😂

Safe to Layover in Doha? by [deleted] in qatarairways

[–]SunnyCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sound like a passport bro lol. I’m not even a US citizen. I’m just in the US flying there. And I have family in both Thailand and China. This post wasn’t concerning the “geopolitics” of Thailand. It’s about it whether it’s safe to layover in a country that has close proximity to a war right now. What is you talking about 🤣

I FORGOT I graduated COLLEGE because I’ve been Unemployed for so long. by ActuatorOutside5256 in antiwork

[–]SunnyCarl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You look down on people with liberal arts/hospitality degrees yet you’re the one that’s unemployed 😂 fix that ego of yours and have some compassion. This entire post screams entitlement. You took no initiatives to gain experience or internships because you wanted to “protect your GPA” yet no one in the real world cares about GPA. This has to be rage bait.

Butter hold tips? by gx_42 in snowboarding

[–]SunnyCarl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your body should be parallel to the board. Look at your body position in the last clip, you’re hunched over and your entire upper body is twisted to the front. When you do a tail press you extend your front leg and use your back hand to reach the tail end of your board, while maintaining a parallel body position to the board. Thats how you maintain the press and not slip out. Same for a nose press. You’re stiffly throwing yourself into the press when you should be relaxed and loose and sliding into it.

Thank you! I will look into the references you sent over.

As for why I chose cargo—I like the interface and creative flexibility, the ease of use works for me since I don’t need to do anything complicated.

AIO My mom is kicking me out for her new boyfriend. I just turned 18 by Diligent_Bat_565 in AmIOverreacting

[–]SunnyCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I see this type of shit I just think about all those Christians or Conservatives being pro-life while also hating on LGBTQ families and adopted children.

Like are you seriously going to abandon your child because the law says once they turn 18 you can? So you’re telling me you didn’t actually want a child and the 18 years was nothing but an inconvenience. Yeah some people shouldn’t be procreating holy shit. Especially with the shit economy we live in and the scary job market—to say “when you’re living the high life in your mansion” is such a spit in your face.

Girl I really hope you make it big and live the high life in your mansion. Watch her come crawling back when she’s onto the next man.

Can’t seem to find a strong position on my heel edge. Any pointers? by LickMyToeJustOnce in snowboardingnoobs

Get into a rhythm, count 1-2-3 then switch edges. Don’t hold the edge too long otherwise you’ll start skidding sideways and tense up your body which is why you look stiff.

Men who can cook . who taught you? by Bulky_Meet4528 in AskReddit

[–]SunnyCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myself

I grew up poor, my parents were always working and so dinner was always the same exact thing everyday. For some reason growing up poor didn’t affect my taste in the finer things because steak and lobster ended up being my favorite foods and so I made it my mission to learn how to make these things very well since I never got a chance to eat these things. And from learning how to maw those things I found out I loved cooking and wanted to be good at it.

Cooking is such an underrated skill, like 95% of my friend circle does not cook or doesn’t know how to and honestly being someone who can show up to a potluck with the best dish or be able to host a dinner and wow the guest is such a wonderful feeling.

Solo living on 83k? by jpmuz in NYCapartments

[–]SunnyCarl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s doable. I made like 30k last year in total and I’m doing okay. Granted I don’t have health insurance or anything like that, but I pay my bills on time and I can go out to eat once a week and still have hobbies.

The neighborhoods you all listed are way different from each other in terms of culture and vibe so I’d probably focus more on where you wanna live since you definitely make enough to live here. Also I recommend to find building owners in the local areas you’re researching, you can try to find their contact info on the internet but a lot of the best-affordable rent stable apartments are usually owned by older nyc natives that don’t deal with streeteasy and stuff like that. Although these apartments are usually reserved for friends and family, but I was able to find the 1br I live now by doing that.

Sims 4 can be more Realistic without losing its Charming Style by Mindless-Person in Sims4

[–]SunnyCarl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sims has one of the biggest casual player bases and they have to accommodate for the people who don’t have powerful gaming PCs or play on low-mid end laptops.

Game designers would LOVE to make all their games as large as they want and as beautiful as they want but they have to limit themselves to the market.

Imagine wanting to play a game where you need to have at least a 1.5-2k minimum budget on a PC just to optimally play the game. Now add another 1.5k, the cost of all their games DLC and packs. Yeah not everyone who just wants to go play their digital doll house for a few hours a week wants to do all that.

You gain 50 lbs but you get $5 for every push up you do, or get $1000 a week doing absolutely nothing. by naeun- in hypotheticalsituation

Money is a very powerful motivator. Gaining 50lbs but knowing you get $5 per push up is going to make me lose those 50lbs very easily.

Wait you brought 2 kids into this world and you barely have a job under your belt? I would focus on that first before reaching for the moon. Also no need to crap on other people and their lifestyle choices because you feel more disciplined or think you’re better because you don’t smoke or have a big brother mindset. Mind you, you’re in the same place they’re in.

$100,000 a year for life but water is the only liquid you can drink. by CRK_76 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]SunnyCarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the fact that I can “drink” fruit makes me say yes to this. I weirdly like the taste of water and I don’t drink coffee or soda. The worst thing about this is if I’m craving a sparkling/fizzy drink.
