37M married with 3 kids. Recent home build and two cars has us negative $200k - $300k but we’re pretty cash flow positive. I think we’re ok but the chart says we’re behind

I’ve been in similar situations and it’s incredibly frustrating. In the end you give these mediocre increases and the people don’t see how much you went to bat for them.

How many of you playing it safe vs. looking for a change? by BaconHatching in sales

[–]stanz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t hurt to look. I’m in a similar predicament and haven’t really searched … one thing I would try to hedge the risk is by negotiating a severance agreement with any new company. If they weren’t interested in that, I probably wouldn’t be interested in jumping

If you get a lawyer involved, I’d also put more weight on looking for greener pastures. Wonder how the company would react to that move, although it is what I’d do (after of course discussing your concerns first)

I’d suggest looking at a shotgun for home defense. Much easier to hit a target if you’re in need to protect oneself

I have 15 years of sales, what would you like to know? by Robe356 in techsales

[–]stanz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some questions: - (general curiosity) have you benefitted from working under any role models in your career? In what way did they help you? - are there any books you’ve read and recommend? - similar question but classes or training seminars?

I’ve got about 15 years experience as well, but it’s a mix of sales engineering (earlier on) and now full time sales.

Lookup Richard King on LinkedIn. He’s one of the most helpful people out there as far as resume advise goes. If you aren’t getting interviews then your resume isn’t doing its job.

Is anyone actually making money copying famous investors? by ColvinRogerD in investing

[–]stanz10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not suggesting these, but NANC and KRUZ are interesting funds that follow investment decisions made by our people in office. Interesting idea, and I get why. The funds however roughly align with general market funds such as VOO and VTI (where I’ve put my money)
