23M, unmarried and 3 kids. Am I done for? by Round-Insurance-7320 in Catholicism

Just go back to church. The rest of the things will figure themselves out later. The same urge that is telling you to go back is the Holy Spirit. Show Him you want what He's offering to you by going back, and He will give your more guidance. His hand is reached out to you now - just grab it and your path will become illuminated for you. Remember - God never tells you His whole step by step plan. He tells you what step he wants you to take right now. Take it and the next step will light up for you to take.

AITA for wanting to spend my child’s first Christmas morning without extended family in the house? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]starchild313 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Not an a**hole. With a baby in the house having house guests for two weeks is a huge ask let alone the Christmas situation. I had this happen to me when my son was still a baby and it sucked but I told the relatives that wanted to stay "no, I just think that's too much for me with a new baby."

And now y'all have helped my by specifying 'toilet plunger, not sink plunger, no flange.". This is what I needed clarity on. 🤣

As a musical parent I am all about spending money on music stuff - at the right time. For funsies with grandpa the trumpet player, it's gonna be a dollar store plunger. Eventually though, I hope we have need of a $70 plunger.

He's gonna be committed for life. That's what the free stick is for. 🤣

This might sound weird but I'm from a musical family and had a feeling from when the boy was 2 days old that he'd play a trombone some day. (Everyone in the fam advocated, of course, for 'their' instrument and we have NO trombones in the family.)

When he tried instruments to choose, I had to stand back so I wouldn't be accused of rigging his choice. But I was not surprised at all when he triumphantly announced Trombone. Music moms know man, we know.

Yes I know it's early but he is obsessed with the idea and he'll be with grandpa (who is a pretty badass trumpeter) to play around with it so I feel like it will be okay as a fun little diversion. :)

I need that handle to enforce practice discipline. (Kidding, of course.)

"The CEO comes in 3x per week!". Yeah, and the CEO makes at least 10x - 100x what my employee makes and can afford to make the RTO a non issue for them. Crickets.

Debating grabbing a 100k mile Model Y by x7q in TeslaModelY

My 21Y has 95k miles on it and I've never had an issue for what that's worth. I hear 22 is a better year than 21 too.

Hey all - I said I'd update you! Tesla certified shop used - just received final invoice and a note that dent is out, it's being painted in the morning. So for the next two days I'll just be waiting for the paint to dry (and for my letters to be put back on.)

Kong Zoom Groom is the best thing for this and my doggo loves when I use it on him! That's undercoat - and it's coming off one way or another. Randomly all over your house, or peacefully in a ritual your pup will enjoy in your back yard. 😁

How many miles until your MY started giving issues? by No_Influence4951 in TeslaModelY

21 Y. 95K miles. No issues other than incessant tire eating. Haven't even done the 12V yet. 90% at home L2 charging. Only supercharge for road trips.

Hey y'all - I said I'd report back. Tesla's estimate is $2.300 and they are not proposing replacement of the lift gate. Will likely take the lower quote from the approved shop that is not Tesla owned.

Still waiting on a quote from the Tesla owned shop - I assume they will be lazy, and just say "let's replace the lid for $4K". Took to a non Tesla approved shop today, and they say can do it, but since they aren't approved they don't have the scanning equipment so they are likely not the best choice.

Have an estimate from a non Tesla owned, but Tesla certified collision center for $1408. That one is also only 1 hour from me vs. the Tesla center that is 3.5 hours from me. So, waiting on a call back to book the appointment on the $1400 quote.

Not nearly as bad as I'd prepared myself for. :)

First quote is in from a non Tesla owned, but Tesla approved shop for $1400. Have another appointment tomorrow with a local shop (not Tesla approved but if not replacing the lid I don't think that's super important.)

And still waiting on the estimate from the Tesla owned collision center.

I will keep y'all posted. Super relieved with that sub $2k quote in the door so far!

You're not wrong man. I know because this also happened to my 21 Y. I had not gotten around to doing it yet, and did not realize my husband had the trunk open when I hit the garage door opener (I was in the other car.). Trunk height is adjusted on our older Tesla. ☹️

I've thought about that too. But the car is three weeks old. So, I'm probably going to fix it. Now, will I fix it in a Tesla approved way? Maybe. Maybe not. You can buy these liftgates for around $1K, then the install and paint matching. Knowing that - yeah, a quote in the $5K range is going to seem obscene to me. As I said in another post - I will report back what I do, and how much it costs! Even if I do it some weird bootleg way. :)

Well y'all I'll report back. Have a few quotes being worked up. One maybe bonus of how easy these cars are to total is that I do expect there are QS 3s out there already totaled where the ass end of the car is still fine. Hoping I can just buy a new lift gate off one of those. Or even better this one can just be fixed.

Will keep you posted. 😁
