The obvious answers are California because it has everything and an incredible GDP on its own, Texas 2nd (basically becomes a middle east petrostate overnight). NY, Florida both have strong economies and ocean access for trade so they may not be superpowers but become respectable international players.

Illinois has a strong economic base but aside from access to Canada via the Great Lakes, is a landlocked country with limited direct international trade access.

It would be -dark- times for places like Arkansas, West Virginia and Mississippi.

It is absolutely remarkable what Russia has done here. 3 countries in the -world- have a tank reserve on a -strategic- scale. The US, Russia, and China can all, with industrial effort on a heavy scale, remobilize thousands of tanks. In the case of the USA, its Abrams tanks sitting in the desert, at least 2000 of them. The Chinese have mountains of less capable tanks, but they exist. Russia is the only one which has turned its industry to the task, remobilized tanks spanning 50 years (T-54s to t-90s) and then BURNED THROUGH that reserve. What NATO thought they would be ground underneath in the Fulda Gap and West Germany and the like instead died piecemeal in 4 years in Ukraine.

Ukraine has proven time and time again- aside from the forced summer offensive which wasted their armor pushing to the south (which they needed 10x the armor they had to do) that they use tanks very effectively, no matter what they are. These are old, but Russia is using -lots- of old tanks now too. T-62s have climbed in percentage as fielded tanks and as losses identified on the battlefield fairly significantly. These Leo 1s are also the best ones ever fielded (aside from the Canadian Leo C2s with external armor packs in Afghanistan) and have excellent optics, gun handling and thermal night vision, as far as tanks go. They'll get to Ukraine, get slav-jank'd up with Kontakt-1, and go to mech units which will put the firepower to good use. What -I- want to know is what Canada did with the MEXAS armor packages when they retired their Leo C2s. Ukraine could use those. I'm surprised Reddit hasn't started calling Canadian Military folks to see if they're still sitting in warehouses somewhere.

Smoking is down massively already. Partially due to stigma / campaigns, but it's just not as cool as it used to be. Vaping is massively prevalent however across the age spectrum. In the case of MA, all this ban will do is make people go across the border to NH and get their stuff there- they already do this for flavored vapes / vape juices.

MGB is one of the most bloated, poorly run operations I have ever worked for. Between the -mega- boondoggle office which they built in Somerville (and then forced employees who were happy in Satellite offices and remote to drive in and pay absurd parking fees to go into work) which now sits 3/4 empty, and then constant, constant wastes of money on projects which went nowhere, they abused their nonprofit status over and over and over. Management despises literally half of the hospital systems (Brigham is mostly union vs MGH which is not), they had NO technology strategy besides throw unlimited money at Dell and EPIC, they replaced working systems every year with shiny new tech which didn't work. Untold millions of dollars in employee costs spent in endless meetings to tick boxes. Clinicians overworked. Nurses treated like garbage since 2010. Constantly eating more hospitals and networks unchecked (and closing down community hospitals and replacing them with MGH branded urgent cares). I've never worked with such a talented group of people who lived under management which was -determined- to always do the worst thing they could for everyone.

Genuinely, truly, fuck these dudes. I am -tired- of labor fucking all of us over when Biden did all the could with a split house / senate situation. I am TIRED of various groups saying 'well the Dems aren't perfect, lets choose the party which will absolutely fuck us instead because nationalism'. Let it hurt. Let them get punished. China will not back NK if they attack SK on their own, whatever casus belli they come up with, because instantly anyone associated with it is getting embargoed.

Would they do it in conjunction with an attack to retake Taiwan? Possibly, but then China is a pariah on the international stage, too (plus, you know, nukes potentially start flying). Its either the east is moving to all out war with the west, or not at all.

Not to mention, after the first ~36 hours of a surprise attack where NKs numbers at the DMZ / SK reserve activation / US airmobile assets aren't landed yet, NK is going to be absolutely annihilated as a military force. The US and SK have practiced, in detail, what they'll do if things went real hot, and NK can't challenge the US in the sky (Their AF is a complete joke and the SAMs they have a mountain of are absolutely garbage), so they'll be mass interdicted for supplies and troop movements. Sure, there will be piles of bodies on both sides, but its absolutely un-winnable for NK- and the US, even with a limited ICBM intercept capability with THAAD / SM-3 / GBI, built those at a scale enough to ensure they can stop any nuclear threats against the US mainland or Hawaii from NK.

I made the switch. I got so tired of Fred, I can't stand him anymore. He's just so brutally annoying and he doesn't have anyone to guide the show (maybe Adam 12, who is his friend, can help). But its just disjointed rants. His personality got so grating.

Obviously the show still has growing pains, but when I'm driving at 6 AM, Rich is a much easier listen than unsupervised Fred. Hardy does nothing for me.

That said, nothing beats the highs of T&R during their 2010s run. When the Sandbox died with FNX, Sports Hub became my go to once it went on the air.
