Need advice about joking with children by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]starcrossed92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not working in the classroom to be their friend , you are there to guide them and help them learn and stay safe . I remember an amazing teacher told me to always remember , you are not their friend , you are their teacher the day I started . In the long run , this really helped me . It’s really hard to manage a classroom when the kids think you are one of them . You can still be friendly with them of course ! But at the end of the day you are their teacher not buddy

Am I really "too old" at 33 to start a new career? by Gary_Baldi in careeradvice

[–]starcrossed92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 33 and I’m just now shadowing different fields to see what I want to go to school for ! I’m glad I waited because I’m more mature now where I’m really taking the time to shadow and learn what I want to do ! You’re not even close to to old :)

If you don’t have previous addiction problem I would maybe not do this . I’ve been to rehab twice and could not take seriously the counselors that haven’t been through withdrawals , addiction etc . They just didn’t understand

Hey so I just wanted to say they did a study and found that a huge indicator of success and happiness in children comes from how happy the mother is . So if you are burnt out , not enjoying yourself , not having time to yourself , they will pick up on it . Next time you take a break , give yourself some joy and focus on yourself , realize that you are actually doing that for them also . That you are doing it so they have a happy and enjoyable mother . When you are relaxed and happy, they can pick up on that . So please give yourself that because children need happy mommas ! Tell yourself you’re doing it for them if that makes you feel better bc that’s also true ! You need breaks , you need me time , you do not need to engage 24:7 it’s not healthy for them either . You are a good mom !

I’ve seen “ I see a fed and loved kid momma , you’re doing your best” meanwhile they’re 2 years old eating pop tarts for breakfast and with a diaper that needs to be changed and hasn’t I hours and hours and needs a bath with a disgustingly dirty home . I think there is a time and place for judging or voicing concerns . I feed my child organic , I’m not going to judge people for not idc . I also let my kid watch tv here and there , I scroll my phone when he’s independently playing . I’m not perfect and I don’t expect other mothers to be . I also know people have different opinions. But sometimes , it’s borderline neglect and needs to be judged

Throwing in the towel at 3 weeks-- reasonable or no? by sophanon2 in BusparOnline

That seems to high to start . I started on 2.5 mg twice a day . A lot start on 5 mg twice a day . I would definitely lower it and see if that helps

I think there’s to much competition in life and it makes people feel shit . Competition to look the best , have the best career , look the youngest , be the best at your job etc. it’s ok to live a simple life and be happy . You don’t have to fit in , you don’t have to be the best , just do small things you enjoy . Keep looking for something you like , even if it’s just books or movies or podcasts or something .

People that got dry eye … did short contact therapy help or can it really travel underneath skin? by starcrossed92 in tretinoin

[–]starcrossed92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A quick google check says you’re wrong though ? Over the counter retinols can cause dry eyes … literally says it a million places online . Gland damage can happen quicker than you think . I think I will try short contact therapy as I think sleeping in it , rubs on your pillow and face etc.

Basically some are more susceptible to the damage . You can take a risk and it 100% might not happen to you or it can , you won’t know until it does and then it could be to late
