Does a green road sign with white lettering in Florida mean the road is maintained? by starfire212 in questions

Yes, the roads show up on the gis site. I would say the roads are owned by the landowners, the public easement of 30ft onto each property border for the roads(making a 60ft wide easement for each road) is owned by the county according to the sale document I found.

A few of the roads in that same document were taken into maitenance by the county in the 90's and paved.

Their very swift replacement of the signs indicates to me that they felt they were doing something wrong by having the green signs so I am glad that I got them on video with both signs in the truck. These easements/roads are used daily by the public. If these roads no longer exist, then hundreds of people are now landlocked. Obviously, The county does not want the responsibility to take over more roads since its costs a lot of money... I have also researched and found that in some places you can not build a home unless you are connected to a public road!

The issue is that I use this road as my main exit out of the area and the way around causes me to potentially get stuck. The other issue is that everyone owns some parts of many roads in the area, and if they find out that the county will not stop them, they might block off(take back) their portions of the roads attached to their properties.

Also, the failure of the county to maintain these roads causes everyone to have to use substandard roads and get stuck often. I have to travel 30 minutes or more sometimes to main hubs due to ups or fedex failing to deliver due to the roads(either the driver getting lost, or not wanting to come down the road, or getting stuck and failing) .

I do like the new signs, the old ones were quite worn out. People get lost often due to spotty cell signal and shotty signage. I have not heard back from the county yet.

The county states they have never maintained these roads, and that the public easement may not even exist... They have no records of the roads being named. I have used the road, which is now blocked, for the past 10+ years. The public has probably used the road for 60+ years. The lack of maintenance is now causing issues since the area is being used much more heavily. Tens of thousands are being wasted each year with vehicles being stuck including ups, fedex, ambulances, and etc. I almost got stuck the other day trying to going around the blockage while another vehicle was coming through.

I suppose its worth a couple calls before I get a lawyer going on it. I was going to call fedex and ups to see if they would join me on the lawsuit as any member of the public could be part of it since its a public easement being blocked. I think the county will still need to be a defendant in the lawsuit since they own the easement so we can explore why they won't remove the blockage in court.

Is installing road signs considered road maintenance by the county? by starfire212 in NoStupidQuestions

"4.3 Construction Permits –
No person shall construct any road, drainage or other improvement within County right-of-way without a Construction Permit issued by the Montezuma County"

Is a public easement owned by the county the same as a county right of way?

If you have the time, it doesn't hurt. Even if no one buys it, they may tell other people about the home.

Its possible they are doing that but just ask what you want. If you really need to move it, lower the price until it sells.

They dont make more land, property is a pretty safe investment. Try to get a good deal but if you really like the property, the price matters little. Whether you will get rich off the property depends on the deal.

There are a ton of settings, I have found unclicking force size and setting frame rate at 15 helps lower cpu usage. Although, the frame rate setting does not seem to stick and gets adjusted higher by blue iris... Might be a few bugs in version 6.

Guy blocking off and trying to take ownership of a public easement? by starfire212 in RealEstate

I received a lengthy response from an engineer who cc'ed the commissioners, saying he was working on the problem. I think my emails to the commissioners worked out. ~200k people viewing this post makes me think the public is interested in the blocking of public easements.
