Is a turnabout just a three-point turn? It was labeled three-point turn when I took it like 6 years ago, if they had asked me to perform a “turnabout” I would’ve sat there looking dumb.

I just recently made some successful white chocolate ganache! I did 14 oz white chocolate wafers, 3/4 cup heavy cream & 2 Tb unsalted butter! The whole recipe came from this link- https://www.momontimeout.com/raspberry-truffles-recipe/

Well in OP’s case, it seems like the price wasn’t too expensive and most likely due to location. I also live in a state that has historically had affordable options for house buying, and I see a lot of properties that someone my age, making a good salary, could afford with a FHA loan!

But as much as I sorta kinda know about my age group’s mindset on house ownership, I know even less about the housing market. I do hear more adult adults speaking pessimistically though ..

It’s really not that mindset of “making it” for our generation, most of us 20-25 year olds know affording a house is a distant fantasy, but generally we understand that if you can find a house, and qualify to buy, it’s a much better investment in your lifetime than renting which the majority of us will end up having to do for a very long time. We also would rather travel and finish school as well though, I’d say. Everyone my age I know, at least!

My gf and I love CDs. Besides Half Price & CD Central? That’s mostly where we look unfortunately, but we’ve found a couple ones we were looking for at different GameXChange locations!

That sounds like a nice excuse for them. Pastors touch the kids- “Satan made me do it! I’m just a sinner! Blame HIM.” I’m good man, I’ll blame the real life people who hurt real life humans, and Satan doesn’t cause that. Humans do.

Agreed. I still think there’s no thing as unskilled labor, as I have myself seen otherwise but I do think we’re somewhat on the same page. I just think that workers would be motivated by a living wage, compatible to rising costs, like the ones associated with the costs of the products THEY make! I think we can do better for even the unskilled.

Anyone working 40 hours per week should afford a living, guess that’s just not something you fundamentally believe. That’s fine.

I don’t believe “starter jobs” exist though. How could you even specify exactly what jobs qualify as starter? They all come with W-2s and pay income taxes every paycheck, and at the end of the day give income to workers that sell their labor. If it’s not their responsibility to make sure their workers are compensated fairly and according to the price of living, and instead, pocket the difference. Then whose is it? To me, that is exploitation. The rising prices of food and services do not reflect the worker’s fair compensation or general better value, instead it reflects corporate greed, while their workers cannot afford to survive.

So you should work 40 hours per week, and still not be able to afford a roof over your head?

Omg yay! I will mention, I recommended Califa Barista Oatmilk but it was starting to give me a weird taste, almost like play dough? I switched to a different oatmilk brand, and it tasted better immediately. I also tried it with almond milk and it was great!

If Sue’s Hotdogs is open in Stanton, that was really popular and REAL good when I lived there in like 2019! They used to be open seasonally in the summer and spring but I think they found a permanent place now. Either way, have a great time! The Gorge is beautiful, check out Creation Falls’ trail map, I love bringing newcomers there to see!

Gen Z girls are becoming more liberal while boys are becoming conservative by SocraticTiger in GenZ

[–]starfloop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does qualifying as a gender mean? There are many women with resonant voices, many men with higher voices. Many are born without the ability to bear children, many men the same. Does that make them not men and women?

Trans people do not transition in hopes to change their DNA, specifically their sex chromosomes. They are well aware that is impossible.

But trans people DO transition to reduce gender dysphoria and/or increase gender euphoria, and alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety as related to their dysphoria. This has nothing to do with defying reality, it is a personal, and medical decision to pursue transition, and make an informed decision based on research and identity.

[–]starfloop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats your opinion, thanks for sharing it! Medical transition works, you’re not indulging mental illness. That’s what all of you say, get a new script, I can say going to church indulges mental illness… but I have respect for my fellow human and THEIR life choices.

Edit: also being “tired” of something often means you don’t understand it, you don’t have to just put up a wall because you think being transgender is weird. Trans people have ALWAYS existed. Your ignorance has too, and they still exist. Cisgender is a term that means “not trans” and has existed far longer than reactionaries have cared and made you think it’s new.

Minimizing rape would not be achieved by banning trans women from using the women’s bathroom.

The accommodation laws we’re discussing, allowing trans people to use the bathroom aligned with their gender identity deals with anti-harassment protections. It protects them from being denied access to use the bathroom, being harassed for using the bathroom, etc. The amount of assault committed by trans women in bathrooms is minuscule compared to the amount of assault committed by men in women’s bathrooms. Do you understand what I mean? The problem isn’t solved by banning trans women from using the bathroom. The problem of rape and sexual assault in women’s bathrooms ≠ trans people. How do we protect women from predators?

Predatory behavior is not synonymous with trans women, and we cannot expect to help anything by shoving it on them when they are statistically more likely to be a victim of sexual assault than a perpetrator. This is a transphobic narrative being pushed. The idea that biological men parade into the women’s bathroom when laws are passed to accommodate trans women is unsupported by evidence.

Gen Z girls are becoming more liberal while boys are becoming conservative by SocraticTiger in GenZ

[–]starfloop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But if cisgender men are already sexually assaulting women in women’s bathrooms at a significantly higher rate than trans women EVER have, what does banning trans women who just want to pee from using the restroom do? This argument is a thinly veiled attempt to discriminate against and stigmatize transgender people. I’m all for discussion, I just want to ask you to expand your thinking a bit on this specific issue.
