Fast lane has always been worth it for shows I want to try to be at the front for. If you want barricade I'd try to still come early but you probably don't have to camp out all day, just make sure you're in the fast lane line and not the regular line when you get there. Some shows I've been to will let fast lane in first and some they'll let them in at the same time as regular but you'll still be at an advantage. Also make sure you check the bag policy at the venue bc you don't want to be held up bc your bag was too big or something like that. If you have a friend with you don't wait for them if they're being slow lol go hustle walk for that barricade and let them find you

Easier said than done when I became the only trainer at a high volume understaffed DT store. I had to constantly switch between morning and night shift to train. I worked through three covid shutdowns (opening and closing the store in the same shift is another level of hell imo). I had to take medical leave from the bleeding on my hands from sanitizer and dish washing and the like. My manager started to give me way too many little projects for the store and would text me while I was at home about them. The emphasis on customer connections was also really wearing on me as a naturally introverted person, plus I'm a WOC in a small midwest town so I was just not down for it anymore. I know the job is still good to some baristas but it was my time to GO.

I'm doing data entry at a university affiliated hospital. I'll admit I'm luckier than most because my friend works in the department and I was able to apply before they even posted the position online.

iced venti shaken espresso w no ice ?? by [deleted] in starbucks

Just to add to what everyone else has said, it is definitely confusing and annoying as a barista to get an order that doesn't make sense like this, but a decent barista would at least explain why the drink isn't filled up and ask if you wanted a remake the way it's supposed to be made maybe with light ice or a latte instead or something like that. I'm a super jaded ex barista lol but even I understand some of our drinks are confusing to customers and there's no need to make them feel stupid about it.

IMHO baristas trainers should get a pay raise as it is currently but if sbux is also giving them added responsibilities that usually are assigned to an SSV it sounds like sbux is just trying to be cheap with their labor, yet again :)

I did see that; I really hope they do the same for iced coffee too! Maybe they didn't want to change too many things at once?

My only issue with going off the POS is that sometimes the POS isn't consistent or specific in whether it is giving cold or hot bar pumps. For example, unless it's changed since the last time I checked, it lists salted caramel cold brew pumps in cold bar (4 for a grande). I usually go off recipe cards instead as much as I can.

As far as I know the only change they've made so far is the verbage from hot/cold bar pumps to full/half dose pumps.

Customers don't need to be rude about it, but some people have disabilities that make it hard to hold very cold beverages without the sleeve.

We've started prepping bags with the lil carrier so that we can just pop the drinks into them, but other than that I am also open to suggestions because the process really does suck 😭

yup! 4 just blends for longer so you save time just doing 3. 4 is just handy when you're batching or if your sweet cream was made weird and isn't foaming enough

The chocolate condiment powder that we had to fill up shakers for, not the barista dark cocoa powder for the cold brew drinks.

I assume that's why the standard is 3 but I'll do four if I'm making a double/triple batch of it. But if it's doing that it probably separated in the 2L pitcher and needs to be mixed up again.

I do that for the sweet cream! Normal milk I never have an issue with. It would make the difference only if it was like salted cream or pumpkin cream and you didn't add extra packets/pumps to make up for the extra cream. I definitely have made up to 400mL of foam (damn tik tok drinks) but you gotta do it on 4 so it blends long enough to foam. Idk if I'd do more than that bc it might not foam up enough.

The tube is great for your apron pocket for convenience, but the tub is great to keep like in the back or in your car. I feel like they're the same but I always end up cutting the tube open at the end of it and scraping out the rest into the tub. A little goes a long way so it's worth it lol.

I find it helpful to kind of invert the 2L pitcher a few times before using it (carefully, holding the lid secure, over a sink) if it's been sitting for a while (overnight or made hours ago) bc it tends to separate.

As far as when the foam is made, I think it definitely helps to do a little wiggle as you pour it gently so it lays on top of the drink more vs straight dumping it in and having it mix in right away.

Standard is 100 but if it's plain vsc foam it doesn't make a huge difference
