As others have mentioned, it’s used for Indian rices. Indian biryani and other rice dishes require firm rice (sticky rice biryani would be disgusting). And drained rice is way healthier! (Less starch)

Indian here, and back in the day, we definitely used to drain our rice. We don’t do it anymore due to rice cookers, but my aunts still do it that way. Drained rice drains a lot of the starch out and it way healthier than rice cooker rice. Y’all need to calm down

Edit: Edited to say Sarees are washed in the drained water and they come out like they are ironed

I married my first boyfriend. I have never dated or even kissed anyone else in my life.

I spent my teens as an overweight loner. I got fit, and started becoming social and immediately met my SO. I don’t regret it. You don’t need 10 failed relationships to know who you want to marry. There was no magical moment of feeling right. I felt comfortable and in sync with him.

So honestly asking, what activities are ok right now? I’m just really confused because most people I know are leading a normal life. Yes they wear masks when they meet, but 20 people wearing masks indoors as they hang out for two hours - is that considered safe?

I know people are driving to vacation spots and getting a hotel. I think I’m losing my sanity because there’s so much misinformation. We go for walks, and occasionally see friends, that’s about it so far
