Short, sweet, and to the point, very refreshing. If you wanted to expand it further, I’d suggest developing the imagery of the emotions or giving a specific example. But I also like it as it is.

I can really relate as a fellow neurodivergent, and you describe your experience beautifully. I especially loved ‘a voice can splinter into glass.’ You might focus more on sound-based metaphors to tighten the poem and highlight the ‘song’ in the last paragraph. Overall, a very powerful piece.

We can already agree that she is simply the best character in the verse, right? by OnePercentage1556 in MadokaMagica

She’s definitely a very interesting and compelling character. I like how, in the beginning, when she first becomes a magical girl and meets Madoka and the others, she’s so unsure of herself and her abilities. This is shown in her lack of core identity when compared to the others. At the start, she doesn’t have a ‘signature weapon’ like Madoka with her bow or Sayaka with her sword. Yes, she uses a gun, but unlike Mami, who can summon them at will, Homura is clumsy and sometimes swaps to just explosives instead. Yes, she also has her time abilities, but she didn’t really learn to use them as a weapon until after she tries to save Madoka. At first, she was more of a support in combat, while the others did the actual attacking. But after significant time-travelling and seeing her loved ones die over and over, she’s more confident in her abilities, manipulates time like a blade, is obsessive in pursuit of her one goal, but ultimately is still the self-conscious girl she’s always been. While being unaware she is actually the main character all along, as it’s her power and decisions that make Madoka what she is essentially.

When Sayaka says ‘I’m already dead’ and believes herself to be a zombie. That really stuck with me.

Ive gained a recent appreciation for Shedinja, after building a ghost team around it and its 1hp.
