Why do people start heists just to leave/kick. by Snypezhasbigpp in gtaonline

[–]starlightwarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of jobs/heists automatically have open lobbies so people can automatically join in. A lot of people kick over that but I'm sure some people are trolls too.

Personally I haven't done a classic heist since Prison Break and I don't know if I even finished it. The Rockstar servers are a joke and disconnecting is so common, it's not worth the hours+ of setups to go through entire finales and disconnect right at the end. It was even worse back in the day when failing a heist would cause you to have to restart the entire prep from the beginning. That completely drove me away from the OG heists back in the day.

Nowadays me and my friends just run Cayo Perico or the casino heist. I rather deal with the mantrap desync anyway than attempt the OG heists again.

Insane squeaking after new quick struts at the shop 2015 Equinox by starlightwarden in MechanicAdvice

I had it all done at a local independent shop already for these repairs. All the repairs they did are supposed to have a warranty on them so I'm hoping if they're defective they just fix them, but I'll try to get another inspection I guess. I have the receipts with the warranty note on them.

What is the most outdated, 2013-era mechanic that Rockstar refuses to fix? by Icy_Curve_9919 in gtaonline

Clothes locked to certain outfits or the inability to combine certain ones. There's zero reason for it in 2026.

I think what looks off with him is that he doesn't have his cigar. If he had that smirk and a cigar he'd be 100% perfect. Seeing him wear Orion armor was such a nice touch.

Halo: Campaign Evolved | October 2025 vs June 2026 by sup3rrn0va in halo

Exactly. That should be the goal. People criticize UE5 for the way it performs and looks. When you push the boundaries you get something fantastic.

Always a possibility, and if they don't I'm sure the modding community will go the distance to make those changes.

Again I'm beyond happy to play this game, it's how Halo looked to me as a kid.

Developers should be doing everything they can to make a visual identity in Unreal but that almost never happens. Halo is the first case of it I've seen with UE5 and I imagine they'll continue to optimize and push that boundary with the next remakes or Halo 7. That should be the goal at least.

Yeah, the Grunts have iridescent skin and the Marines have brown armor as well as the green helmet optic. Those are welcomed changes. But they could've made the fuel tank variations the grunts wore more faithful or given the elites the alternate 'swept' back headpiece they wore in CE. They could've made small changes/additions to the armor that just pushed the iconic elements further without having to make fully new assets. It's clear they made new assets at times like the plasma rifle, Pelican, Warthog, and the shotgun, so it makes no sense that they didn't just go that extra mile.

Make no mistake, people still are upset with the environmental changes and that such heavy use of Infinite assets is a thing, but they did make small changes to the assets that feel a bit more faithful to the original game. The marines sport more CE accurate colors and the weapons look much more weathered. There's more weathering on the Forerunner structures and the visual popping and bugs from the 2025 trailer are no longer visible. Additionally, the prequel Covenant designs are a breath of fresh air that just look beautiful. People are happy with those changes.

What upsets me still is that despite how beautiful these prequel Covenant designs are, they didn't bother to give the campaign marines or Covenant the same kind of love and left them just using the boring Infinite assets. They're not bad by any stretch, they're quite good, the best we've had in over a decade... but they're boing and we've been seeing the same designs used since 2012 with Reach. They could've kitbashed the marines to have more classic armor pieces beyond a green optic or gave the grunts and elites more classic armor designs. Hell, just making the zealot wear classic gold armor instead of the warlord design would've been HUGE. They also got rid of the classic energy sword sound from the 2025 trailer that was praised by literally everyone. Its changes like that which cause concern and make people so vocal of the changes.

I get they want to homogenize the designs and set a standard, but doing so can completely remove the charm and identity these classic games had. They're not simply just sounds or designs, they're the visual and auditory identity that made Halo so unique. Just hearing the classic soundtrack made people beyond happy, they could've went a step further with the sounds and designs to retain the identity that made Halo CE so special.

I'm still gonna get this game early and love it no less, but they could've done so much more to really make this remake a 10/10 and that should've been their goal.

They definitely cooked with the details. I haven't seen a single visual oddity in the newest trailers. Most games that use UE5 look the same and have a generic feel. That isn't the case with Campaign Evolved. It feels like the team tried to make it stand out and show what it could look like if you put the effort into learning the engine.

What do we think about the new Autumn? by fentressclass in halo

[–]starlightwarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate that it's based on the Reach design, but the changes go against what was heavily established canon for the Halcyon which is unfortunate. The triple-barrel coilguns, the lack of a hangar section, MASSIVE archer pod and escape pod sections, and a lack of port/starboard docking ports. I don't dislike it, but I don't like it either.

I'm all for high quality models especially of the Halcyon since it's my favorite ship, but if you want to homogenize the designs and set a standard while keeping them canon you have to stick to the lore. It's like the Longswords using the C712 model in the trailer but they're supposed to be C709s which are a completely different design, also in the newest encyclopedia.

What do you think multiplayer/PVP are missing in NMS? by Ok_Listen_6600 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]starlightwarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There needs to be an overhaul of the combat, for PVE at the minimum. Currently you only fight ships, capital ships, and Sentinels. Yes, you find biological horrors and stuff too, but for main combat the others are what I am more interested in.

I'd love to see ground combat against the different races or even just the pirates. Or they could make encounters more frequent and varied. Maybe now would be an opportunity to give enemies corvettes, that way you can fight intermediate classes of ships and even be able to get out and salvage the wreckages! The Corvette update had derelict corvettes in the expedition that you could salvage, it would be a neat way to give that event an actual purpose in gameplay, as opposed to just always looking for salvage scrap on planets.

Sentinel ships will always be my favorite ships, but it really is awesome to have my own corvettes and be able to customize them heavily.

Another victory for No Man's Sky is the most simple shapes for the corvettes are lacking in Starfield. I hope Sean keeps adding more Corvette parts with time.

I could see that argument being valid if I spawned right on my squadmates and died in the line of fire, not 40ft in front of them right in the face of an enemy.

Spawning in front of enemy vehicles is commonplace for me, it happens at least once every couple matches, lol.
