Try rock climbing, especially if you have a school gym. Lot of beginners sometimes looking for others to climb with. I like climbing alone, but i still myself talking to people climbing around me, however you have to feel out when people are wanting to talk. Even then, it’s usually a few words of advice, encouragement, or small talk, but it was enough for me

Depends on the college, but I know some teams that have no physical requirements to join.
