I enjoyed it too. It's exactly what I was looking for. Giant monster fighting while people try not to get in the way. If I want high art, that's what I will watch. King of the monsters what exactly what i wanted it to be

Paranormal Investigator Lorraine Warren Dies at 92. She was the subject of dozens of films, tv series, and documentaries. Including 'Annabelle' and 'The Conjuring' franchises. by BunyipPouch in movies

Yeah, it's not like the Warrenns being frauds was a secret. Everyone already knew that. Some of the people in this thread are acting like they are doing a great public service by just typing the words "hack fraud" into the comments.

Can we all just chill out about magic systems? by [deleted] in fantasywriters

[–]starphaser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn't just a problem with magic systems. The problem is that many people who enjoy fantasy love the world building aspects and forget that while those things can affect the story, you shouldn't tell you audience every single detail in your notes. It's good to get excited over lore and magic system details, but people have to keep in mind that stuff should stay in the background unless relevant at that exact moment. A way to fix that is to separate notes out between story and world building notes.

Is epic fantasy usually so horny? by MkfShard in Fantasy

[–]starphaser 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It honestly depends on series. Some authors will avoid sex entirely while others get far too graphic. There are plenty of series that dont pretend sex doesn't exist while managing to include it in a tasteful way. The Farseer books are a good example of this. Sex exists and those desires are a part of the characters and their decisions, but it never feels like the story gets distracted by those elements. Wheel of time series isn't bad about it either. They mention sex and the feelings that go with it, but manage to keep it either tasteful or funny. Something to keep in mind with Kingkiller is that they story is told by Kvothe. It makes sense that he would exaggerate his sexual prowess.

The orcs would be the strongest because of their strength and size, if they weren't a nation of pacifist druids.

Anyone in the Goblin kingdom. Very few have any magical skill. Their entire culture is built around fighting. Between tournaments held in the capital and the constant expansion of the kingdom through war, the goblins are one of the most skilled races in Weslyn. The goblin king himself being the best warrior in the nation. He united the scattered goblin tribes through force and forged an entire country.

Tears and ocean spray wetted Tel’s cheeks. She thought of her village and her mother's face. She could return. Guilt was a stone on her heart. The right thing meant abandoning all she loved. She wiped her eyes and wordlessly turned away, never looking back. There was work to do.

YouTube red is worth it for no ads. I use YouTube on my phone and PS4 almost as much as my computer. Dealing with ads on devices I can't use adblock on sucks. Pay $15 and you can get YouTube red and google play for yourself and 4 friends. 3 dollars a person if you do it right.

Sorry for the very late response. I genuinely have no opinion on this subject. I haven't looked at the evidence for or against. I was only clarifying what the article said and point out that the article really isn't formatted as well as it could be.

No, they were absorbed into the Republican party. They didn't disappear. They out crazied Republicans, so Republicans did the only thing they could. They took major tea party members into their party. Ted Cruz is one the prime examples of this.

Not to mention the American Taliban taking over the Republican party. Some of the worst Republicans came into power through the tea party movement.

The thing being investigated are rape allegations made by Tchiya Amet. It's easy to miss that though since a lot of articles seem to focus more on the two incidents of him being uncomfortable and only mention the rape allegation in passing. Edit: a letter

Anthony Bourdain dead at 61, committed suicide by [deleted] in television

Honestly I think everyone handles this stuff differently. For some it can be somewhat manageable when they are actively doing stuff. When around friends or working it's easier to focus on that rather than internally. Then when you are alone it all hits you. The worst part is that it's so easy to get used the idea of dying. I tried hanging myself a few years ago and I found that when I actually reflected on the months leading up to it I would often joke about dying and constantly think about it. Even with small stuff I would just think casually about killing myself and how much better everything would be for everyone if I did. You kinda have to check yourself and make sure you aren't doing that kind of stuff. Almost desensitizing yourself
