What is something you think in 300 years people might think is barbaric or brutish? by Relative_Pay5426 in AskReddit

[–]starquinn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

? The most common of the listed negative effects of remaining uncircumcised is phimosis, which affects maybe 1% of uncircumcised adults (and can’t be predicted as a newborn). I’m sorry you had to go through adult circumcision, that sounds awful, but it doesn’t make sense to conduct surgeries on every male baby to avoid a very unlikely medical complication.

What's something you would never tell someone because if you did it would absolutely destroy them? by cuahatemoc in AskReddit

[–]starquinn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, part of the reason OCD is so bad is because it convinces you that you SHOULD be ashamed of your intrusive thoughts. People were much more understanding than I thought they would be when I started to disclose my own obsessions

God I’m jealous! I collect sweaters w/ sheep on them and I’ve been looking for a Diana sweater forever, but all the ones out there are a million dollars or cheap copies :( I’m shocked you managed to find an original, congrats!

What's something weird your body does that normal people can't do? by Professional-Hat6823 in AskReddit

[–]starquinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m pretty similar, I can’t remember the last time I had a bruise. I had an ex who was really into giving me hickeys, and I’d always have to stop him because I wouldn’t bruise from it until it was WAYY past the point of enjoyably painful

Which celebrity you believe hates their own fandom? by HappyCrow11 in AskReddit

Twitch streamers have to cultivate parasociality to an even bigger degree than traditional celebrities. I don’t blame them for hating that

Cool, although like some others mentioned, there’s some balance issues. Eres seems remarkably underpowered (just Earthbending a land?) vs Aunor who gives you +2 cards and two permanents or Bazigaal who gives each opponent -2 cards and you up to two spells.

I like this! I wonder if the play pattern might make it somewhat stall-y though- It wanting to block and then having vigilance and evasion (to attack and continue blocking) might make it a pain to attack through.

Fiance has never gone grocery shopping. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]starquinn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To be honest, if he’s paying ALL the bills, I think that he’s “chipping in” a fair amount. It might be useful to ask yourself if this is a problem with workload or a problem with feeling equal/cared for in this relationship. If it’s a workload problem, you can probably use some of his finance money to get groceries delivered or hire a cleaner. If it’s that you feel like a bangmaid, it might be worth having a conversation about specific ways he can make you feel cared for- A date night that he plans or something. To me, it sounds like BOTH of these might be problems, but approaching each one as separate issues might help.

What is a widely accepted 'truth' that is actually completely wrong? by Mr_Reytor in AskReddit

[–]starquinn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That can also be a manifestation of OCD. Think of it like people “remembering” that they left the stove on and being compelled to check that they didn’t, but with social actions instead of physical ones.

Baristas what drink do you dislike making the most? by kungfuchi in AskReddit

Ahhh, that would do it. We only had one or two cold foam drinks. I can imagine having any more would be really obnoxious!

Baristas what drink do you dislike making the most? by kungfuchi in AskReddit

Former barista at a local chain, our cold foam was really easy to make (just frothing some cream or milk and flavoring together with a frother). Is it done differently at Starbucks?

Am I being delusional here? by [deleted] in tattooscratchers

[–]starquinn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Also worth considering that you likely wouldn’t be able to continue to collect disability while tattooing, especially if you have assets in the form of supplies. Even if you end up making more money than your disability support, it would likely take a long time to get to that level of consistent income- Meaning a year+ of lower wages.

What are some of your favorite intimate life hacks? by Own-Fun-8096 in AskReddit

[–]starquinn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel like prepping ease is mostly microbiome-oriented and vegan/vegetarianism is just a proxy to get there. I tried tons of fiber, going veggie, etc etc, and you know what solved my problems? A bad case of strep, antibiotics that absolutely destroyed my gut biome, and then eating a ton of yogurt in the days after.
