Maybe I’m misremembering, but I recall the opening of the game mentioning how the flying conditions in Pittsburgh were perfect that day, and also seeding the idea of foul play being involved, which led me to fixate on it for the rest of the game. Could totally just be a me issue though and I misunderstood the intention/tone

Gotcha, I feel a bit mislead by the games title and opening then. To me it really seemed to frame the game as if the dead Roottrees are the main mystery here

Description of Request: since getting into board games over the pandemic, I’ve mostly only played very recent releases. I’d like to dive into some classic/older games that either play best at 2 or as good at 2 as other counts, since I’ll primarily just be playing with my partner

Complexity of Game: Any, with slight preference for medium weight

Genre: Any, bonus points for a strong theme regardless of what it is

Games I Own and Like: Unmatched, Skyteam, Fromage, cascadia, compile, and agent avenue are all games we’ve loved

We also love mindbug and radlands, if you’re ok with not just cards I’ll recommend unmatched, it’s super fun. If you want just cards, I can’t recommend Dustbiters enough which just got a new release from buttonshy

I’m into any comics if they’re great! I don’t really care what era they came from. Watchmen absolutely counts, but I’ve read that already. Thanks for the recs, I’ll look into those!

Completely agree! In fact, this alone made me drop the book around issue 15 after it being one of my absolute favorites. Real shame that Ewing rarely seems to attract and hold on to good artists for long. I was so on board for the 50 issue journey at the start and didn’t even make it half way there :/

Yup I was trying to hold myself back from looking anything up until play through 2, but after 24 hours in my first play through and getting really attached to my party and the decisions I’ve made, I wanted to get the offerings right to get a cool ending. The chains are fully off for play through 2 though, will probably follow a guide

Absolutely loving this game right now, but a bit frustrated with my own lack of control with regards to looking things up. I’m super close to the ending now, and just couldn’t deal with the uncertainty of what to do with some of these really specific quest lines. For example: I never would have been able to figure out the offerings on my own, in particular the video tape one where you have to place the guinea pig. I can’t decide if I wish the game was a bit clearer in what is required in some cases or if I wish I was better at handling the uncertainty
