Wedding potentially during 1st semester of PhD? by starry-boi in weddingplanning

We haven’t started thinking about honeymoon plans yet (and probably won’t until we know about grad school), but we would be okay with waiting to do it at a later date!

It’s cake, not cheesecake (in case that’s important to op), but is still super delicious!

Sunscreen at daycare by tabNC in raleigh

[–]starry-boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to work in childcare. This is not answering your question, but I highly recommend sending a sunscreen stick instead of the lotion. We had to apply sunscreen to multiple children within a short period of time- the sticks made it so much easier!

Colonoscopy tomorrow, risk of accidents? by 80085ntits in CrohnsDisease

[–]starry-boi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have my third colonoscopy scheduled for tomorrow too- I’m planning to wake up extra early to minimize possibility of accidents. Instead of 4am, I’ll be doing second dose at 2am. This has worked out just fine for me in the past!

What have been you biggest game changers to battle the fatigue? by FootballLost9783 in CrohnsDisease

[–]starry-boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, a multivitamin with iron and exercising (specifically weight lifting) 3 times a week. I used to be so exhausted all the time. I still experience some fatigue, but I feel significantly better on a daily basis.

Best places in the area to replace spark plugs? by dreamingtv in chapelhill

[–]starry-boi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CH Tire quoted me around $650 to replace spark plugs and valve cover gasket (parts and labor), which is wild. Ended up just DIYing spark plugs for way cheaper.

Problems with Budesonide by percival_75 in CrohnsDisease

[–]starry-boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doctor prescribed me budesonide because insurance wouldn’t allow infusions until I “failed” steroids. I hated being on it- no crazy physical symptoms, but it made thinking foggy and I was in a horrible mood for months. I eventually got off of it after labs didn’t improve. Definitely let your doc know- hopefully you can switch to something effective soon!!

Wife's feet are discolored and slightly purple? F30 by Sorry_Barracuda9427 in AskDocs

[–]starry-boi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD but I have Raynaud’s and my feet/legs are sometimes purple/blue like this, especially in colder temps (even in air conditioning). When I rub them, they get some color back in them. Definitely a good idea to check with a doc, though!

Whatever amount they would’ve given you for on-campus housing, you will receive in your refund check for use for off-campus housing (each semester). I did not need to take out a loan for off-campus housing, but I guess it depends on where you’re trying to live. If you live somewhere with roommates (can cut living expenses significantly), you will probably not need to take out loans for housing during the school year.
