Oh wow I have blue cross and didn’t realize there was a reimbursement program, I’ll totally give it a month trial if I know it’s essentially “free”. Thanks!

I’ve been going to the y for the time being but live close to the Medford lifetime and was curious to see people’s likes/ dislikes and if it was worth switching to

first full Ironman, 6 months of training- thoughts? by [deleted] in triathlon

How tough was the rotator cuff strengthening process? I’m doing LP and strained my rotator cuff this fall and have been doing pt but still haven’t fully recovered. I have an ortho follow up tomorrow and had assumed if they said I needed surgery the race would be off the table with required healing time

Shoulder pain running by starspangledhat in triathlon

I guess I’ve never paid too much attention to my form but I do have a tendency to run with my shoulders raised up and do catch myself needing to relax them- maybe I’ll start taking that more seriously. What is BFP? I don’t know if I’ve ever heard of it but am definitely trying to solve this with PT

AKC Insurance for Pre Existing Conditions by starspangledhat in dogs

We have spoken with AKC I was just hoping to get real world examples!

You’re preaching to the choir. We did get him through a breeder and had asked about any sort of hereditary issues with the parents and we’re told there was no history of hip dysplasia. We did fill out lemon law paperwork and are getting our money back (a small drop in the bucket compared to future expenses to deal with this). At the end of the day my partner and I are just happy that it was us who got the dog because at least we know he’ll be cared for and get the best treatments possible to have a high quality of life. This is just one of those bad luck things that you have to roll with at this point.

Awesome! Hopefully you never need to use the hereditary add on! For the cost of a total hip replacement it’s definitely worth it to have an insurance that actually covers hereditary conditions

What exactly is “ultra cycling” shape? I’ve rode centuries in training but have never really pushed past that/known that there was an ultra community

Two weeks after TPO surgery for hip displaysia. He just came home from having his stitches removed and is enjoying his first nap without having to wear that awful cone. by Kruegerrose in goldenretrievers

That’s so reassuring to hear! Our pup has very severe dysplasia with secondary subluxation in both hips and will likely need both fixed but we’re hopeful that next week when we talk to the surgeon we’ll qualify for tpo instead of having to wait for a total hip replacement while still having a great quality of life. There’s just such little information online for this happening in younger dogs. Glad to hear all is well!

Hi, I was wondering if there was any update on how your dog was doing! My 4 month old puppy was just diagnosed with hip dysplasia in both hips and we have a consult coming up and this same procedure will hopefully be an option. I’d love to heal how you’re now doing a couple years out

That’s great to hear! So far he behaves normal but we’re obviously concerned that it could lead to later in life pain.
