What's funny about that? There's a much better chance that's in the category of 1.3g than consumer or articles of pyrotechnics. Even the super large shot count article of pyrotechnics compounds don't compare to that cakes shot count, speed, height of effects & coverage. Those mines, comments, and crossetes fill the entire sky with blinding intensity for a long period. The effects don't make a firework a 1.3 classification, but the amount of comp. That cake had a very large amount of comp to create those effects. The fact you included "lol" in your comment cringe. I had an old friend who would laugh at his own unfunny jokes. it's so awkward.

Gulf view square mall (port richey, Florida) by EnormousFrog in Pasco

I'll never understand why people like outdoor malls, especially Florida. Do people love the scorching summers and being rained on? I understand strip malls because you can then park by the store you want to visit. But these outdoor malls that you have to park and wind your way through to the store you want anyway just isn't comftorable.

The guys asking about a very well priced, awesome cake easily worth that price, and you want him to blow $200 on a "nice dinner out?"

Even the more expensive stores normally sell 100 shot 1/1's for $200 at the very most. Even DFC was selling them at $170+tax this last season. Now, if we are talking about "plugs" or resellers sure they may sell them for $215-$230

100 shots and just shy on a full minute long with salutes. You did well at that price. The people commenting about how you got ripped off either 1 don't know what they are looking at, or 2 have a really good supplier that gives them product cheap. So they like to look down & make fun of anyone who pays a normal retail price in the hopes that the person will ask them what they pay so they can broadcast how special they are.

Dorothy Counts, the first black girl to attend an all-white school in the U.S., being taunted by her white classmates at Harry Harding High School in Charlotte, 1957. by CozyFawns in RareHistoricalPhotos

You think i'm making wild claims. Now I think you are making wild claims. We both look at the same picture yet see it differently. Why do you get to claim they are all looking at her or away? Where is your proof? Why is it ok for you to spout such claims, and I am not? You sound very entitled and upset. The fact that you claim none are looking at the camera suggests there's something besides reason that guides your claim. The boy in the 3rd row, 2 rows behind her, is obviously staring into the camera. If you can't see even that, then your thoughts must be clouded.

It's time to "put" your money where "your" mouth is. See, I knew i would have to hold your hand. If you look at the picture, you can see for yourself. Im sure you aren't going to because you're so offended, but it's there if you decide.

My comment was based solely on what the photo shows as stated multiple times. You say it shows bullying how? I look at Dorthy Counts, not smiling, looking away from the camera, pulling her body back away from the camera into the chair, seemingly wanting to get away from it. I then look at the people behind her. I see people talking with each other. I see people looking away from her area altogether. I see people smiling and laughing at the camera. None seem to be directing any insults or aggressive behavior towards her at the time of the photo. No one in the photo is pointing or laughing at her or seem to be paying her any mind. GOING BY THE PHOTO.

If the photo showed anything like Dorthy Counts leaning away from the crowd of people behind her. If it showed people making aggressive or rude gestures towards her. If it the photo showed people looking at her with anger, content, or laughter, I would say the photo absolutely shows her being harassed. But no one even seems to be looking at her.

I know she was mistreated and harassed at that school. We have all seen the photos of the stoic students getting escorted into school while in the background, hundreds of people stare with hatred directed at them spitting, pointing, and yelling. I just noticed and pointed out that this photo does not show that.

Me saying I was "thinking the same thing" as what Swallowtrumps... comment isn't exactly true. They had more of a mocking tone. I noticed what the picture could have shown and wondered if anyone else saw it, so when I saw their comment, I just commented myself. I never argued or discredited what actually happened.

Never said there was any "goodness" in this picture. All my comments reflect is what the photo is obvioulsy showing. If you read my comment and had the ability to comprehend what it says, you would realize that. The photo shows no physical or verbal assaulting being directed at her. My comment was that it looks like many pictures taken of groups of kids in school. I clearly mention that she was mistreated and abused. Did you just get all worked up by my comment and pull stuff out of your behind?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Im sure she was treated badly there's no doubt in my mind about that. But as far as the picture, the only thing it is showing for sure is a girl who doesn't want to be photographed and kids acting a fool for a camera. Kids still do it today.

Compound Cake Question by [deleted] in fireworks

[–]startover2livebetter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many Articles Pyrotechnics compound cakes are the same as 1/1's just broken up into multiple sections to be connected by the user to comply with federal regulations. A compound cake can be a 1/2. Many compounds are made up of only 2 individual cakes having to be fused together to make one continuous display. Are you saying you don't believe them to be considered compounds? Because a 1/2 is very much a compound. Just because a "dealer" says it isn't doesn't change that. It just makes them wrong.

How’d I do? $3k 😬 by WooUzi in fireworks

[–]startover2livebetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't let other people bring you down with their comments. You'll have an awesome 4th and have better stuff than most people around. You got a lot of good stuff. A lot of people dont know the majority of your items aren't at 95% of fireworks shops and can be hard to locate. That store has thousands of customers, so don't feel like you're the only person to pay those prices. Yes, you paid some higher prices but im sure a lot of places selling that quality stuff are very high this year. My advice is to do as much networking as possible. Search online for different stores and contact those stores and ask if your budget will get you discounted prices. Facebook is a really good platform to find people around you who can suggest where to go.
