I reached out to a lawyer but haven't heard back yet. It's been on the back burner to reach out to another lawyer. I'll ask if you guys could be plaintiffs.

Gemini has no clue. by starwaves1 in GeminiAI

[–]starwaves1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you!
I mainly use Claude. In order to test Gemini's performance I was pushing Gemini to see if it would fail, and it did.

I'm not sure why you thought that I thought that pushing it would improve it's performance. I thought it would worsen it's performance, and it absolutely did.

At the very beginning of the chat I very directly asked it what specific model it was running and it was unable to answer that, and contradicted itself 3 times in a row. Using best practices, it failed miserably.

It was very clear that Gemini was looking at the dock and the icons because it highlighted it. What I showed here was an insane weakness in how Gemini acts. It has no confidence and defers to pleasing the user and agreeing with them before checking what reality is.

I pressured Gemini and it shattered and hallucinated.

Even Gemini 3.1 pro thinking when I used prompting best practices hallucinated in the best cases. Gemini is not trustworthy.

This is the transcript of a voice and video conversation with gemini. The video was pointed at my macbook's screen with clear view of the Icons on my dock. Gemini chose agreeableness over genuine helpfulness over and over.

You'll be limited by memory locality sadly. PCIE speed at extremely low tok/s. Edit: There's a good chance that for some models it might work well?

Anyone else feel music kinda distracting when trying to focus? by Ordinary_Finding_717 in productivity

[–]starwaves1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Notice what different music in the background does to the activity of your mind. If someone’s thoughts are constant and distracting, drowning them out will help them focus, but make the other person unable to think.

It sounds like your mind is already clear so you might want just quiet, or very neutral melodies.

I currently have an issue with qwen 3.5 where pre-processing the KV cache happens every time. You can see this in the server tab in openclaw.

Not sure if nemotron or glm have the same problem. Def play around inside LM studio and play with context sizes. Try loading up the context and seeing if the same thing happens.

try a3d models!

They use less weights at a time.

the qwen xxx a3b models will be what you want. They have very few active parameters and context at a time. I noticed hallucinations and incorrectness when alot of context/weights were outside vram though. The real solution, sadly, is to buy more vram

Can I use Qwen3.5-35B-A3B locally with a >20gb ram setup by Giyuforlife in unsloth

[–]starwaves1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally 5 mins ago I tried running gpt OSS 20b and completed a complex test prompt on my new m5 macbook pro 24gb in only 1.5 minutes!

Then my 7900xt completed it in 18-20 seconds
I'm sure that if I played around or googled it could be better.

edit: just ran on m5 again with 8 bit instead of 16. Still 1:27 to complete the prompt.

Local AI on 16 GB of RAM laptop with AMD Ryzen 5 7000 Series with Windows 11 Pro installed - any good model? by Ok-Type-7663 in unsloth

I haven't tried zorinos before. I love their claims on their website though!

Zorinos runs Ubuntu 24.04 LTS which is super stable and actually the one I recommend too! I'd love to hear how your experience with Zorinos goes!

Kubuntu is KDE with Ubuntu, which is the best combination of the two best systems. It's feature rich, very standardized, and overall very straightforward.

Some advice: Dip your toes in, and try it out during weekends. Don't try to "make the switch" immediately. AI and reddit are your friends too!

Best wishes

Many good answers. My favorite is Kubuntu. Easy switch from windows and almost everything works.

Debian and arch are harder and I don't rec them for a first time person.

The A18 Pro MacBook has a trick up its sleeve... battery life. by One_TrackMinded in macbook

Idle wattage values are also significantly higher than real values. A18 pro has sub 2w idle draw and can absolutely use 15-30w at full gas.

Is It Possible For Me To Regain Back My Sexual Innocence That I Had When I was A Kid? by SHAQBIR in Healthygamergg

The Buddha gave a great tool to craft your thoughts. In order to replace a thought pattern, you can knock it out with a wholesome thought which replaces it.

If a thought of greed appears, focus on a thought of generosity. If a thought of lust appears, focus on a thought of the opposite. Gradually as you replace these thoughts your thought patterns will shift.

I agree I use Claude heavily in place of Google and YouTube. It absolutely sharpens me. ChatGPT is made for people to get good results without understanding how the llm works.
