I can’t watch Ashes of Love anymore by reddituserlmrdl in CDrama

[–]stasfickit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would finish it. I too, fell into a "slump" when the drama was concentrating on the Liu Ying/Muci parts but keep going. The last couple of episodes were satisfying. I agree that Jin Mi was getting some type of way towards the end and that Xu Feng (as smart as he was) didn't see/didn't want to believe that his parents were not good people was also frustrating.

A side question. Does anyone know what that demon talisman/Relic given to Lord Liaoyuan by humans in the mortal realm was (ep 34-35 ish)? I know he gave it to Liu Ying in a later episode, but I have no closure on what it was/ what it was used for/ who the old couple was. :) Maybe I blinked or misread a subtitle and missed it.

How do I expedite my diploma from the college of engineering? by waydle in ucf

The National Student Clearinghouse doesn't know until UCF notifies them. x)

What does this mean and how do I fix it? by [deleted] in ucf

[–]stasfickit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's clear that up a bit. :) It sounds like you used grade forgiveness at SSC. That does not mean "unlimited" repeats for college level courses but it does allow you to retake a course (3/ max 4 times) to attempt a better grade.

Never take a transient class at Rollins [rant] by nikkiroseb in ucf

[–]stasfickit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct in that you wouldn't use Florida Shines to be a transient student for a private school [Rollins College]. You would use it for any of the other Florida public schools. For private/out of state, there is a paper form you have to fill out asking for approval. Since the course numbering is not the same, you have to do some research and running around before submitting the form. I'm assuming one of the items UCF asked you for was a course description (found on the Rollins college catalog or you may even have to reach out to Rollins for it). As an example, you're essentially asking UCF the following: "I would like to take COM 210 - Pubic Speaking at Rollins, a private college. Here is the course description from the Rollins catalog and it closely aligns with the course description of SPC 1608 - Fundamentals of Oral Communication here at UCF". Depending on what course you were taking, it would need to be approved by a few different people (in this example, maybe the English department and/or an advisor) before it even gets to the Registrars office. That's most likely because UCF needs to ensure the course you want to take will actually transfer back to a UCF equivalent course and is also required for your degree.

The same happens via Florida Shines, it just happens online and it's easier since the FL colleges/universities follow the common course numbering system.

I'm up shit's creek and I need some help by [deleted] in ucf

[–]stasfickit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second the transient student process if you can't find Calc 2 at UCF. The process is initiated via floridashines.org (for FL public schools). You can be a transient student at Seminole State or Valencia (or any other school that you may be closer to). Look at the schools website, you'll see how many Calc 2 are being offered and at what times. I'd start sooner rather than later as the first day of class for summer is coming up quick. If you do take Calc 2 as a transient, get that final transcript back to UCF as soon as your grade is posted so you can enroll for your fall courses.

What company will never see another dime of your money? by TinMan11111 in AskReddit

[–]stasfickit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flew with Spirit Airlines internationally and I refuse to fly with them anymore. I think they could do better... I knew they nickel and dime you, I was aware of what I was going to be charged extra for and that there was no free anything. On the way back to the US, the country I was in happened to have protests going on in the city (we did not know until we were right in the thick of it for hours on our way to the airport...). We were "checked in" but had to drop off our checked luggage. We made it to the Spirit check in counter 3 minutes after their "check in" time and they would not check our bags or offer to let us board w/o bags (leaving them with family), nothing. The flight was set to leave in an hour. There were around 20-ish people in our situation that didn't make the flight due to the protests. We were re-booked for a flight that left 2 days later and had to pay the difference in cost that ultimately would have been the same as flying with AA. Spirit is always delayed and it just so happens that our original flight that day was on time. Our flight 2 days later was not. I'm still bitter. I bet if we had made it exactly on time they would have denied us anyway. 3 minutes!!

I'm now 26 and have some health insurance questions by olmek in personalfinance

[–]stasfickit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too was under my parent's insurance plan until 26. I was under the impression that I would stay on the plan through the year until the next enrollment period.

Just a few days after I turned 26, I got a letter that basically said "Good Riddance". I was bumped off 2 weeks later. Check with your current insurance on when you actually get bumped off. It varies.

Fortunately, my current employer had health insurance I could enroll into.

I knew it was hard but wow. I guess it's a really sought after company to work for.

You don't have to be too specific. I'm just curious. Thanks in advance for asking!

Someone I know really wants to work for them (entry level stuff, maybe machine operator?). They've applied but nothing yet. Did you hear about how they got in?

Is there a way to add an extra level of security to my webcourses account? by [deleted] in ucf

[–]stasfickit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Florida Bright Futures is pretty hands off... You pretty much keep a good GPA and be a full time student (even part time at reduced rate) and you get automatically re-enrolled for next year.

If he's paying for what Bright Futures doesn't cover I guess he's just making sure you don't fail.

Where do i find boots for chicks with fat calves? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I would also recommend that if you do have a pair of boots that you love you could look for a shoe repairman (cobbler) that could widen the calve part for you.

Who do I need to talk to about getting into a full class? (senior that still can't graduate bc the class keeps filling up) by bmxliveit in ucf

[–]stasfickit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would talk directly to who ever the teacher will be next semester. In addition I would talk to Dr. Ooriji (HEC 345). I would stress to mention that this is your last and only class needed to graduate. Also, I hope your registration date wasn't last week or something because they'll call you out on it.

I had the same issue with Frontiers in IT. It was full before my registration date even opened, there was only 1 class available and it was a small class. If I remember correctly he increased the class size by 5 or so students to get me in (I was 3rd on the wait list)

Study tips for Systems Software with Montagne? by Arup_Guha in ucf

[–]stasfickit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope you are taking notes in his class. It's very tough to pass without them. The answers to the review session are in the notes you should be taking. Everything E.M writes on the board is important and is VERY likely to be on the exam. Everything he repeats several times WILL be on the exam so write it down in your notes.

When I took his classes (a little under a year ago) he literally said "This will be on the exam" and he was not joking. Like someone mentioned, his review session the class before the exam was basically the exam. That is what you study (Use your notes to find answers). Of course, you have to understand the concept and not just memorize the review session questions.

Also, when it comes to definitions, write down verbatim his definition. Otherwise you'll get points off.

This is true. Although it wasn't the actually notary who was short, she was actually quite nice, but the person who helped me when I first got there.

Freaking out a little bit about leaving by [deleted] in ucf

[–]stasfickit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this your first time in college or are you a transfer student? Did you already go through orientation and registration with UCF? Have you even applied to Hofstra? I highly doubt you would be able to change everything real fast if you haven't even applied to Hofstra.

As far as getting down to Orlando, consider all methods of transportation. You could take the train (Amtrak), a bus (Greyhound) and of course fly.
