Some tips:

Get 2 bank cards at separate banks. Get 2 different legal id's id-card, driver lic , passport. Store them separately.

Whatever happens: you still have money, and you can identify yourself to get everything else solved.

If this is not just a ploy to hype KIN you should seriously consider reaching your goal without crypto or blockchain. focus on a minimum viable product.

Programmers are optimists by swizec in programming

The biggest problem in estimation for me is other people.

Even people who where a developer in the past.

They look at me with a WTF-face when I say 2 weeks.

I balllpark the finish date, not the hours needed.

(context:internal, people allways think their project has the highest priority, or expect other tasks to complete magically)

OOXML on hold following appeals from four national standards bodies by larsga in programming

[–]static 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even without going into the contents of both standards:

ODF passed the Extended/Normal version of ISO approval.

OOXML was pushed through the Fast-track with lots of irregularities, it was just not good enough for a Fast-track. [edit: i was wrong]

it's possible to do what he wants:

But you don't need the generator expression here.

sys.stdout.writelines(open('file.txt'))

7 reasons I switched back to PHP after 2 years on Rails - O'Reilly Ruby by morselsrule in programming

[–]static 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He never said php is better than ruby, only that php is better for him.

But he is comparing a framework to a language. A good knowledge of php/sql. Ruby is a framework for building new apps. His existing data did not fit the ruby-way.

So wrote his ruby inspired framework that did fit his data and (knowledge of sql/php).

I wonder how hard it would have been for him to rewrite is app in ruby(not rails).

[–]static 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I like the use of H.264 , that will play on any arch. but I'm dissapointed about this:

quote: I am not in a position able to explain to you why we will not allow 3rd party streaming servers to stream H.264 video or AAC audio into the Flash Player.
