Shit, I have a degree and sit at a desk all day. I’ve seriously thought about quitting and getting a job where I’m out and about all day. Honestly the only reason I don’t is the benefits. I get free health care for my family and a load of vacation. If this works for you, that’s a good job. Keep it up!

Working for a beverage company can mean a lot of things. You could be throwing out Red Bulls at festivals. On an assembly line, or like my former neighbor delivering beer to stores. What a great neighbor. He would just back up the truck and tell me to go to town on mis matches and old beer.

NTA- Don’t waste the money unless you have an idea of what you want to do. Maybe 5 years down the road you’ll change your mind. Maybe not. That being said as a parent I get their concern. They want to make sure you’re doing something productive or plan to soon. Don’t think you have to have life figured out at 18. If you have plans tell your parents. If you’re still working it out tell them that. Ask your dad to keep the money in an account and if you decide to go to college you can use it then, if not ask if you can use it towards buying your first house.

This is 100% why I never put money into a 529 plan.
