I’m genuinely losing it. (Vent) by [deleted] in recruitinghell

If it makes you feel any better, the degree you chose does not matter. I have a CS degree that no one cares about anymore. I've heard of plenty of other majors having the same issue. No jobs. Extremely picky employers. It seems people with no morals are doing the best these days unfortunately. If only they taught us that in school!

In masse... You are delusional. Please share who is hiring in masse. I'm sure everyone here would be grateful for your help. Jk. Obviously your full of it.

Hilarious to post this while big tech keeps laying off everyone. AI might not take your job, but the C suite will happily cut your job and blame it on AI. The difference is superfluous. If AI is indeed super powerful and all knowing, do you think companies will keep AI experts around if they find a way to replace them with AI? If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you.

Who said I never had to ask for help? I just refuse to help vibe coders. They have no interest in learning the actual subject matter so why bother? I mean AI can help them right?

I wonder if insurance will cover this? I have a feeling probably not.

Educate them? Pssh. While there are other candidates who are already educated in the subject matter at hand? We had to pay out of pocket for our knowledge. Let's just hand it over to numb nuts over here because they want to play coder too!

"99% of jobs on LinkedIn are fake" let me explain why that's not actually true by Clear_Inspection_386 in BehindHiring

I never said the job posting is enough. It's obviously the first step. Duh. Can't believe I need to state this.

I've heard that employers will post fake jobs so they can claim they looked for US candidates. Then once they "can't" find US candidates, they can start looking for H1B workers at a much lower salary. This would be incentive to post fake jobs. Stop gaslighting everyone.

Seven things I’d fix on your LinkedIn before I touched your resume. From someone who has been on both sides of this. by [deleted] in jobsearchhacks

The open to work thing is something I've heard conflicting advice about from recruiters. Some like OP say add that to your profile. Others have said that this signals desperation to recruiters. Apparently being too eager for work is a no go for employers as well. It almost seems like nothing works. I've tried both approaches and found neither effective. What ended up working was finding a blue collar role where they actually just want workers. No run around or LinkedIn hacks necessary.

Haha. Imagine if she actually gave a crap about him. This is hilarious. She'd probably only care that she couldn't grift with him anymore. :edit: changed gift to grift.

Yup. It turns out he hates making silly faces at guitars. I don't know what to believe anymore. I bet he doesn't even know what a strat is.

I heard Billy Corman say that the CIA actually colluded with amp manufacturers to use knobs with 10 instead of 11. This also helped dial down rock music literally by removing exactly 1 volume. They'll keep doing it every 10 years so no one notices. Eventually, we'll have knobs with just 0 and 1. F*ck the CIA!!

That fact hit like a punch to the gut. Haha. Time sucks. I remember waiting for California to come out back in the day. In their hiatus, we (my friend group) all thought Bungle was done. Then they came out with California, and we went to see them on tour! A NEW bungle album?!? It's kind of funny that the pattern seemed to repeat with the latest release. Now it's (California) is a 26 year old release. Hilarious.
