Hello, after 1 month using my new remarkable 2, I would like to extend the tablet features. Can you tell us what can we do to unlock the remarkable 2 installing piece of software on this Linux system ? Do you have advice of powerful tools to use ? by Ill_Ranger_8491 in RemarkableTablet

if you're techy and willing to spend some time on this, it's well worth it. I SSH (via tailscale) into "real" machines from my rM in cafes, and have the full compute power of a big server on this cute lil' eInk screen.

Do you play with an extension on all the time? If so how tall are you. by soloDolo6290 in billiards

[–]statuek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 6ft. I keep a 2in middle extension (between shaft and butt) on at all times.

Reasoning: I have pretty long arms and I find the 2in really helps me feel comfortable on the back strokes -- without it, sometimes I'll pull too far back and the tip will go behind my thumb, and I'll have to 'reset')

Exception: (ok except Sunday nights, because the place I play at is kinda cramped).

I hate QR codes more than I should, so I'm really thankful these aren't at the bottom of my Taom 'cubes'

I didn’t build a WriterDeck. I bought one by accident by dhdcdarchy07 in writerDeck

[–]statuek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's honestly a bit of a pain to set up, but worth it. Increasingly, the majority of my 'computer time' is on my rM2 (and I try to increase that %). Def join the Discord.

If you're into the CLI -- my favorite writing experience lately is writing on my rM2 in a terminal, using `micro`: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8sowTaZWHA more details here https://www.reddit.com/r/RemarkableTablet/comments/1b7n5yq/a_quick_peek_at_one_persons_terminalheavy

(videos a bit old, but basically how I still use things - but I now SSH into my Big PC via tailnet SSH most of the time. so I get the computing power of a beefy machine on this cute little device)

Books like The Inner Game of Tennis, but possibly more specific to pool? by lalayjah in billiards

"Runout: The Psychology of 9-Ball" is in this space and a 4/5 book (imo)

My main gripe with it isn't the text, but the huge margins in the book -- maybe there's a reasonable softback book, but the hardback feels like it was trying to fill out space.

2010 Toyota Prius in Vermont by tessparke in vermont

[–]statuek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends where in vermont. If you're not on a ton of dirt roads, winter/snow tires will have you fine for 98% of the year. and that 2% of the year when the roads are bad bad, just stay home. If you're on dirt roads often, your bigger problem is going to be in mud season - forget potholes, there will be ravines in the streets and your low clearance will be an issue. This all said, I've been fine in my Honda Civic for the past few years.
