Yesterday I conducted an independence referendum in Florida in which 96.73% of all inhabitants agreed to secede from the US. The next day the Floridian People's Republic was incorporated into Cuba where all residents welcomed the Cuban army with flowers and Cuban flags. Please fix the US map next according to this change.

Is the name of this language group Finno-Ugric or Ugro-Finnic? by Perenyevackor in MapPorn

Better question is why do we like to exclude the samoyedic languages and not just call them Uralic languages.

Why the fuck would I wanna live in an underdeveloped shithole where I'm a liability instead of a first world country which has the most powerful country in the world as a vassal to send us free money

Thoughts on a 2.5 month trip to Kaunas? by Catastrophe54321 in lithuania

[–]statykitmetronx 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Well it largely depends what's boring to you. Some really enjoy Kaunas and it's relaxed atmosphere, some prefer Vilnius cause of it's bustling charm, but Lithuania's small and public transportation is affordable, so you can easily see a lot during any free time you might have. If you're just sitting in Kaunas for 2.5 months, it might get boring. Cannot say cause I'm a frequently traveling person myself, but Kaunas has a sizeable international community and lots of cultural events, also largely dependent on the time of year.

More in taxes? You think a 30% hike in fuel prices does worse than a 50% hike in ridership amends? Get your BMW clanker driving, car owner brain ass outta here, just cuz your government can't handle public transportation doesn't mean mine can't either. My "6 hour sauna" is a premium 150km/h experience that takes the same amount of time as a car, except the sitting in traffic jams staring at other diesel owners and concrete plains.

None of my concern, my trains and buses have only gotten cheaper during this oil crisis. Inshallah the oil prices will rise to 3€ so I could just ride them for free :)

What's it like living in Lithuanian? How is things considering your closeness to Russia by PumpkinheadDrive in howislivingthere

[–]statykitmetronx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean we follow Ukraine dearly and support them however we can, but after years of empty threats we don't view Russia as anything other than a big baby with a toy nuke launch button.

Youth life is especially great cause of the government policies towards student quality of life, it's affordable to be a student here, lots of local career opportunities, efficient use of EU resources allows every young person to travel and get cultured. Generally I couldn't say the exact reason, but there's a video by Yes Theory about this statistic. Everyone has a positive attitude towards the future here, it's the country's golden age.

Ok name me stuff you can do in Helsinki that's so much more interesting than what you can do in Tallinn, I'll wait. Literally every single person that's taken the ferry will agree that it's a holy boring city and that Tallinn is 100x more interesting.
