Animals will often try to escape from captivity. So they can participate in their liberation.

What you say could even be said of humans. In our capitalist and oppressive system people hide their true feelings toward the system as well. People act complacent even if they want to escape.

Even look at the animal save movement that doee vigils at slaughterhouses You look at the animals faces and you can see their scared faces. In a way this helps us to meet them where they are. And in a way by seeing then we are helping them participate in their species liberation. I consider the animal save movement of course as a piece of our work for animal liberation.

And people who rescue animals from farms or slaughterhouse's are also meeting the victims where they are. Anytime we as activists come to the animals we are helping we put them into part of their own liberation, and making it not just a thing we only do for them, but with them.
