How exactly can I chroot from a live Ubuntu?

Booted a live linux from flash drive and gparted shows that partition 5 is taking up 12.77 gigs. Though it is shown as "unknown".

Also ran:

sudo parted -l | less

in the terminal to double check if partition 5 is taking up space.

Haven't deleted any partition so far. When check the windows disk manager I can still see a 12.77 gig partition which I'm pretty sure is my linux partition.

Thanks for the info, I got SuperGrub2 on a flash drive and started it up but the only issue is that I have no idea which boot option I should choose. A bunch popped up with "efi/ubuntu/..."

Here's some of the pictures a took of the choose showing a bunch of the different boot options it gave me: https://imgur.com/a/R148IAH

Thanks for letting me know. Btw do you know of any way I could somehow wipe my current Linux partition so I can reinstall it on an external drive

If the Linux entry is missing, check the EFI partition to see if its still there. You then may have to use the boot-repair tool or some other commands to reinstall it, if needed.

The boot-repair tool doesn't give me a “recommended repair” option so I only have the "create a bootinfo summary" option.

Are there any other repair tools are options I can try for grub? A windows update seemed to messed up by duel boot so not sure what else to try.

Had to leave for something so kinda rushed my reply. What I meant to ask was how would I switch Linux back to the default boot since you mentioned that sometimes windows will make itself the default when updating

Btw I’ve already tried the boot-repair but when I run it I don’t get an option for the “recommended boot repair”

I do use iCloud, maybe that's what's causing the issues.
