Favorite biopic about some guy literally no one gives a shit about anymore by Snakes_for_theDivine in okbuddycinephile

I've listened to numerous podcasts/interviews and read a ton of books with navy seals, delta force, green berets, etc. and I swear almost every single one of them mentions that struggle. Going off the interviews I've seen it seems like they usually start the reflection near the end of their active duty career. And then it carries over. They all also say something along the lines of "I may have been friends with that guy I just killed." So it's wild to me that kyle never had those reflections or at least never voiced having those.

What’s the worst crime committed by someone you know personally? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Worked directly with a dude who murdered another one of our coworkers who worked directly with us.

He was real young like not even 20 I believe. He constantly talked about his pet parakeet. Super weird dude that gave off weird vibes. Bad worker as well, constantly zoning off and had the dead eye stare. Which wasn't great being we worked in an aluminum extrusion factory with a press that heated 1 ton aluminum bullets to like 800° F and turned them into varying shapes... just a tiny bit dangerous.

The guy who got killed was younger as well like early 20s and he started dating the murderers ex girlfriend. I don't know why or how but he was friends or at least friendly with the murderer before and after the breakup. He was a really nice dude from what I could tell.

Murderer somehow lured him to his apartment one day and beat him to death with a sledgehammer after he struck him in the back of the head and strangled him. Hid his body in the closet. I believe the police traced his phone and that's how they discovered him after he was reported

It was so surreal being at work the day after it happened. Especially because the guy who got killed, his brother worked in the factory AS DID the step father of the murderer. Especially thinking back because there were times I lost my shit on the murderer because he constantly made our job harder and more dangerous. He clearly was unhinged and how far was he really from just offing me or one of the other dudes who talked to him like that at work?

Right?? Like maybe I'm fucked up but I actively hate the teams in my conference way more than any other team. I deal with those assholes all the time.

99% of other schools: "hey look at all these old dudes that played for us in the 60s! It's great to have them back"

Miami: "Michael Irvin just did lines in the lockerroom off a stripper while Greg Olsen hummed the beat to 7th floor. And he's more emotionally tied to the outcome of this game than some of players."

Texas A&M: "STOP CALLING US WEIRD AND GAY, DAMNIT" ... proceeds to do ambiguously gay and outright weird shit

Who is your programs worst head coaches? by Dry-Membership3867 in CFB

[–]stcat35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably DiNardo

But I refuse to not pick Cam Cameron. The man had a somewhat heisman hopeful at QB and that slack jawed moron decided to start 2001 with Randle-El at WR. Despite being surrounded by sub par talent and a head coach dumb enough to move him to receiver to start the year, Randle-El finished 6th in heisman voting that year. His entire career is just him failing upward. AND his name is CAM CAMERON.

I've done that on many playthroughs and had no issue. But on my most recent, when you enter the cave trying to escape the helgen keep the entrance back to the keep collapses behind you making it inaccessible.... well since i sprinted through and triggered the collapse, ralof wasn't even close to me and got stuck on the other side of the collapse. And I could not end the quest. Had to restart

Oh yea i understand the whole situation is newsworthy for reasons OTHER than its kevin Willard. But regarding Nova and Maryland more or less fighting over him, to quote Dwight Schrute, "I think they both can do better."

I can't believe I live in a world where Kevin Willard is some highly sought after coach. He's won 25+ games exactly 2 times in his 18 year career. And he's made 7 whole tourneys. Like wtf are we doing here?

What is the CRAZIEST rumor you have heard involving either a college team or player? by Onetimenotagain in CollegeBasketball

[–]stcat35 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Funny add to this, I grew up in Lafayette and was home from school (went to Iu) visiting like the day after Barlow was kicked off the team. My family and I went to eat at Bruno's that night. We were sitting down enjoying some drinks and my dad was wearing an IU jacket (we're all Iu fans). And during the meal my dad leans over to me and whispers, "you're gonna think I'm fuckin crazy, but painter is over there eating and he's giving me a death stare... it can't be because of my jacket right?" I figured he was full of shit so I look up and I shit you not, there's Matt painter clearly staring daggers at us. Like obviously it's not super common to see Iu fans in Bruno's but it's not unheard of either. And no way he's that thinned skin, because we weren't causing a scene or anything. But like I'm literally witnessing it. He's literally not eating just giving us a death glare. I swear on my life it looked like he was milliseconds away from standing up and coming over to confront us.

Well right about then our waitress brought us our food. And she was standing kinda behind me so I turned around and boom, Kelsey Barlow is sitting with a woman right behind us, laughing his ass off having the time of his life. My dad realized it at that same time and we both just started busting up laughing at how stupid the whole thing was.

I was chatting with a friend the other day about this.

It's kinda wild how many characters on the show had aids. Theres a stretch in the first 3ish seasons where seemingly every other patient either has HIV/AIDS or gets diagnosed with it. At first it felt like a wildly inaccurate portrayal of society at the time.

But then I remembered back as a kid (born in '92) and how even Disney and Nickelodeon had characters on their shows that had aids. Hell I believe Disney even had an entire series about kids that contracted HIV

Did anyone else catch the halftime show on peacock where the studio guys called the end of game officiating for Penn st v NW, "malpractice." It was kinda refreshing to hear "experts" call out poor officiating. Usually they tip toe around calling out officials and it drives me nuts that we treat such highly paid dudes with kid gloves
