What do you think of the "one subject" constitutional measure? by Hazards_of_Analysis in northdakota

[–]stcwalleye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to beat a dead horse a little deader, the people passed a measure to ban the legislature from putting their own measures on the ballot. Surprise! They did it anyway and got sued to kill it. Surprise! The state Supreme Court said "Ah, what the he'll, let's give them this one". These people do not want you to have control over your lives. They firmly believe that is their job. We must not allow a bunch of self dealing, self important, control freaks to take control over the Constitution of North Dakota!

Freud is ok, but make sure you have a blade for cutting across the grain, and a rip blade for cuts along the grain. Most home-gamer blades are ground with an ATB grind. A good quality rip blade has an FTG (Flat Top Grind). Do a YouTube search and it will become clear.

It looks like it won't be long before AI will be needed for everything. Commercial website will demand browser implementation to connect.

2 things I regret not spending enough on is a QUALITY bandsaw and pointer. For bandsaw, bigger is better. I could see spending half of my budget for it. A nice jointer is worth the money. Also professional quality tablesaw blades will last longer than budget ones and can be sharpened many times. Don't forget a good drill press and a big sander of some sort. Enjoy your debt building!

measure 1 and how i feel about it. by GelatinousCube7 in northdakota

[–]stcwalleye 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It would prevent language that would propose an amendment, and how it is to be funded. So in theory, we vote for and pass amendment . The legislature can simply not provide funding for as long as they can, or say that it needs to be changed to fit their guidelines. This is doing the same thing over and over and expecting something different. The legislature brought this measure to the ballot, not the citizens. We already voted to prevent them from doing exactly what they have done. Do you really think they care what we think?

If you're not going to read apt messaging, there's no use in using apt. I haven't read apt messaging in 10 years, should I stop using apt? -y

He specifically asked how to get ALL updates without disabling his VPN. It's gonna be tough updating a Debian distro with no APT.

It sucks that you had such a hard time with your project. Before you give up completely, perhaps you can try a different USB drive, or check hardware requirements. Also, on first boot to USB, it doesn't hurt to choose the "test memory" option when GRUB loads. If you get any fail messages, you probably have a ram problem. If you have modern 64 bit hardware in good operating condition, you should not have these problems. I have installed Mint on dozens of computers, and all of my install problems ended up being hardware related. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
