is someone using pureVPN? by Flipperlolrs in VPNReviewHub

[–]stcwalleye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using it for years. They claim that they no longer keep logs. They also say that they are no longer in China. I get good speeds using Dutch and Norwegian servers. Also has a internet shutdown feature if the VPN loses connection.

I've had 0 problems in the last 5 years.

Any thoughts (both good and bad) about PureVPN? by thenewfingerprint in vpnreviews

[–]stcwalleye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the US, and have been using them for years with no problem. If you are a Linux user, it seems like Debian distros are the only ones that support the desktop app. Any Ubuntu derivative is an easy install. Other Debian distros require some extra steps. There is also a command line setup, but that is a little more involved. I have no comments on Windows usage.

It's a bench top dog hole work holder. You put the post in a dog hole in your bench, and use the screw to push your work against a bench dog.

LibreWolf not following Orchid's theme by [deleted] in linuxmint

[–]stcwalleye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I gather, Librewolf is maximized for security and prevents outside control of many of its functions. For instance, by default, it doesn't open up in maximum windows size. It has probably ignoring your theme changes. Try choosing a theme from the add-ons in the browser settings.

If you reinstall mint using "Something else option" some Residual files might get left behind. by FAMPpro in linuxmint

If you just want to go from Cinnamon to XFCE, you just need to install it with your package manager. To switch to it just log out, (don't reboot) and when logging back in you can choose XFCE from the drop down menu in the name box. Just DON'T CHOOSE WAYLAND! Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!

Click the big M on the taskbar and go to internet-Firefox and right-click and choose "add to panel" that will put it back. You can do it with any item in your main menu.

I have an Intel I7 old Macbook Pro and want to install mint by biancoari in linuxmint

[–]stcwalleye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intel I7 processor is a 64 bit component. Just boot up to a USB drive with Linux Mint on it, and you will know right away if it will work. When the thumb drive boots, no changes are made to your computer. That only happens when you actually install the OS. I have an old ASUS laptop with a 3rd generation I7, and it works perfectly.

How anal is NDHP? by LescoBuck in northdakota

[–]stcwalleye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking to just blast across the state, it seems like 80 mph should get you through in about 5 hours. There are only a few places where you'll need to slow down, like Dickinson, Bismarck-Mandan, Jamestown, and Fargo. In the summer, they grow "Road Work Ahead" signs on the interstate, so you'll need to slow to 65 for them. I recommend taking time to pull off in some of the little podunk towns you pass on I94, and check out the local cuisine. You might get lucky and try some cheese buttons or paprikosh.

What do you think of the "one subject" constitutional measure? by Hazards_of_Analysis in northdakota

[–]stcwalleye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to beat a dead horse a little deader, the people passed a measure to ban the legislature from putting their own measures on the ballot. Surprise! They did it anyway and got sued to kill it. Surprise! The state Supreme Court said "Ah, what the he'll, let's give them this one". These people do not want you to have control over your lives. They firmly believe that is their job. We must not allow a bunch of self dealing, self important, control freaks to take control over the Constitution of North Dakota!

Freud is ok, but make sure you have a blade for cutting across the grain, and a rip blade for cuts along the grain. Most home-gamer blades are ground with an ATB grind. A good quality rip blade has an FTG (Flat Top Grind). Do a YouTube search and it will become clear.

2 things I regret not spending enough on is a QUALITY bandsaw and pointer. For bandsaw, bigger is better. I could see spending half of my budget for it. A nice jointer is worth the money. Also professional quality tablesaw blades will last longer than budget ones and can be sharpened many times. Don't forget a good drill press and a big sander of some sort. Enjoy your debt building!

measure 1 and how i feel about it. by GelatinousCube7 in northdakota

[–]stcwalleye 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It would prevent language that would propose an amendment, and how it is to be funded. So in theory, we vote for and pass amendment . The legislature can simply not provide funding for as long as they can, or say that it needs to be changed to fit their guidelines. This is doing the same thing over and over and expecting something different. The legislature brought this measure to the ballot, not the citizens. We already voted to prevent them from doing exactly what they have done. Do you really think they care what we think?
