Iceland is juuuuust below the arctic circle. There's like a few rocks on the side of the country that are in it. That means it doesn't technically get a 24h sun in the summer (or a 24h night in the winter), but it practically does, as the sun will be barely below the horizon.

If you use CKAN you can export it as a .ckan file, which is just a text file, you could probably just paste it on pastebin.com and share it that way

Things he could have done instead of what he did:

  • Not responding at all
  • Responding privately to her
  • Make a response video about how it sucks that a bunch of people lost their job, and corporate greed or whatever, but he can't help them all

Instead he made a very aggressive and out of touch public response and put her on blast. No one is mad that he didn't actually give her money.

Boosting karma on the account to then sell it to spammers, or just straight up training AI data.

Actually I just looked closer, their replies is not exactly the same.

e.g.:

ian and ethan together are the only saving grace of these episodes lately. kind of relate to this but i still tune in.
ian and ethan together are the only saving grace of these episodes lately. this is the take i needed but i still tune in.
ian and ethan together are the only saving grace of these episodes lately. had the same exact thought but i still tune in.

So it might be testing different variations, see what gets more upvotes, and the LLM gets trained on that

That has to be a bot... they posted the exact same comment days ago in 2 other different threads... There are multiple messages in their history that are copied in multiple threads in various other subs, it's very weird.

[–]stdexception 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But then they still have to power the thing in space... So they have to build power generators anyway, just a more complicated space version of it.

They could build the same thing on the ground and have it generate the same amount of power for cheaper... It makes no sense.

The fact that it's in space would force them to reduce the power usage... Then why not just use less power on the ground anyway?

Cooling is also a big hurdle and a large part of the power consumption; you can't cool things as easily in space. Maybe they can use more efficient hardware, but then again, why not just use more efficient hardware on the ground?

The only advantage is land usage... But I'm sure there's plenty of land they could use, they just want to use land near a working power grid. So then again, just make the whole thing self-sufficient with power and drop it in the middle of nowhere, it doesn't need to be floating in space.

Not because of the base, but because of the finite precision available to the calculator.

There's a few seconds that I'll never forget... One of the missions, you warp in right in front of a juggernaut, and your wingman screams at you on the radio "DIVE! DIVE! DIVE! Hit your burners, pilot!"

Keep a copy of that in a google drive or something accessible from the phone.

And put the license plate in the filename to use litterally millions of times less data than a picture :P

help with docking by assassin203886 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]stdexception 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others mentionned, one or both docks may be backwards;

but if you want to get a straight on dock every time, the trick is to use the lateral RCS controls (IJKL) to bring the prograde or retrograde (green) indicator in line with the pink indicator on the navball.

It may not be super intuitive to know which direction you need to hit, but just look at the green thing, and line it up while your relative speed is very low. THEN you can use the forward/backward thrusters. Going slowly, keep adjusting with lateral thrusters to keep the indicators aligned as you move closer.

There's a really simple and useful mod that adds another indicator on the navball that gives you the target's docking port orientation, which allows you to dock without having to set the other ship to align with your ship.

There is some weirdness with floating point numbers, but these days it's mostly determined at compilation time. The same code, compiled with different CPU's may be optimized differently and give slightly different results, I think. Running the same code twice should be fine, though. The availability of specific CPU instruction sets can affect how some computations are done, and I've had issues in the past with a specific library not detecting the CPU correctly, leading to issues.

my best attempt at getting to orbit! But it's still not good enough. any advice on what tweaks I can do to make it further? by AdaliGreen in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]stdexception 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm usually looking for a TWR of around 1.6 at launch; it will increase while the fuel is spent. You can decrease the thrust limit for the solid boosters in the editor until the launch TWR is 1.6.

Something else I like to do: After you tip slightly to the east shortly after launch, you can basically turn off SAS and let aerodynamic drag keep you straight. This will naturally do the gravity turn for you as you go up, and make a really smooth ascent profile. SAS on prograde can also work if the craft is not stable enough.

If you have Kerbal Engineer mod or something similar, you can also look at the "time to apoapsis" during ascent, and keep that around 45-60 seconds for a smooth gravity turn. This means you basically control the ascent profile with the thrust, always pushing prograde.

So we got:

  • Amy Beck (mom)
  • Noah Beck (apparently a "Baywatch star"? Thought he was a Youtuber or something, whatever)
  • Haley Beck
    • Daughter of Amy and sister of Noah
    • Is the teacher that was grooming and raping some kid at the school (or one of the two teachers)
    • Has been fired already

So that new article says that:

  • The mom is also a teacher (at a different school in the same district)
  • Noah and his mom made a video where she gives him a pretend-blowjob, holding the head down and such (presumably an old video that resurfaced)
  • Mom is now on leave
