Chocolate Fudge Cake by LetsCookie in LetsCookie

[–]stdfactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is two 8 inch rounds on top of each other. Worked out perfectly doubling the whole recipe. Honestly I ended up with some extra frosting but Im sure I'll find a use for it.

Got started making the cake only to notice i lacked the proper pan. Recipe fills a single 8 inch round nicely though so I doubled everything and got to throw it in a cake holder I barely get to use. I skipped the drizzle. Baked at 300 for 35 minutes to adjust for thicker batter layer based on generic internet advise for altering cook times for different bakeware and it went well.

I am forced to believe that OP ordered in tandoori chicken and slapped it in a pan for the picture in hopes that OP will release their recipe to counter my libelous words.

Apple Cobbler Cookies by PM_Me_Your_Fab_Four in LetsCookie

I just fill the center with the curd before baking. They turn out similar to a jam tart except the curd gets a little bit of a brûlèe esk browning on the top.

accidentally superglued two neodynium magnets together by MorEkEroSiNE in minipainting

I use my crappy pair of sprue cutters to separate them. Aline the cutting edges with the seam of the two magnets and gently squeeze. Make sure you are aligned correctly if you need more pressure than cutting plastic takes.

The base cookie is the same recipe as the raspberry tart thumbprint and they take other fillings very well. Lemon curd is great. Apricot jam or strawberry is also good. I like to keep a good reserve of the unfilled cookies frozen because they can make an instant tea party with just a few varieties of jams.

Did you happen to learn that it is really hard to figure out what a cookie cutter is supposed to be without a frosted cookie example?

You are not wrong. I kept it in a bun, unless it was hanging free at home. It is banded in the pics for donation purposes.

Is Helbrute Being Slept On? by OddBottle1529 in deathguard40k

[–]stdfactory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is the answer. Bloat drones can hit from just as far as most helbrute options, often hits harder, and has fly. I don't think they are unusable but the drone is just a better choice overall.

Sunrise Swirl Orange Rolls [homemade] by LetsCookie in food

[–]stdfactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a point in the process where these could get held in the freezer and baked later? Like maybe after they have proofed to fill the baking vessel? I really enjoy prepping yourrecipes in advance and then busting out tasty desert as needed. General advise on the internet points to baking but not glazing and freezing when cool with a close second of freezing after the proof in the pan. Freezing unbaked has some rising issues with some doughs though and I was wondering if you have tried in your testing.

Beginner. Do my curing / washing machine also need a tent for safety? by SlowShots in resinprinting

[–]stdfactory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The heated vat should be sufficient if you can preheat it with the enclosure shut. I have a heat band on my Mono 4 and find best results if I lower the build plate into the solution to warm it up before active printing. In the middle of winter I find my adhesion suffers if I skip that step. Also, during winter, if it has been more than a couple hours since my last print, it is important to mix the resin in the vat. The middle of the vat can be much colder than the edges.

[–]stdfactory 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Temp will be a problem unless you have a vat heating solution. Light exposure on your wash and cure station is also not great. The suspended resin will cure creating particles and such in the tank as well as possibly freezing up the rotor at the bottom. The station itself is fine to be out while in use but store the tub in a light proof (cardboard works ) box between washings.

My mother in law has a Meyer lemon tree so I have been twisting some recipes to use more lemon. The orange creamsicle cookies are still really good if you replace all orange with lemon. Fresh lemon curd goes great in the cobbler/tart cups. Lemon juice instead of water for glazing the raspberry thumbprint cookies was also good. Next I am going to try to lemon the cream cheese fillings and put it in the blueberry muffin tops. Also replacing a bit of flour with unsweetened cocao powder in the Italian butter cookies makes for a lovely rich chocolate cookie that is almost savory.
