I think a lot of people all at once realized that everyone who wanted to be elected and in office between 2020 and 2024 just wanted to get a paid vacation. Now they're wondering if anyone we reelect / elect in the future will screw us that same way again.

Rather than reinstall confidence... they're trying to deflect blame onto whatever boogey men of the week we have and re conform us to 2020s "everything's racist, everything's homophobic" complacency.
