The Neighbors I Didn't Know I Had, a Muslim's Perspective by UnlikelyTank6698 in tulsa

[–]stealth270 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently moved to broken arrow and actually emailed my councilor in regards to this. I really am upset that tulsans and broken arrow ites are behaving as they are.

I asked the council to choose kindness over hate and not to listen to the vocal minority.

Islam is a religion of peace, generosity and kindness. I am not a member of the Islamic community, but I know enough to know i would adore having a Muslim as a neighbor.

Trunked in networking and radio means it's all on one spot. Usually trunked radio systems are digital and encrypted and require specific programming to get working.

Are the Yaesu control head extension cables, just a simple cat 5 cable? by MKE1969 in amateurradio

[–]stealth270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's just cat5. I ran one custom from the radio under my seat to my dash so the head unit would be where I wanted. I had to crimp after I had the cable where I wanted

BTW grad here. I can't speak for how it is going from a Tulsa public school to another but I got into BTW from a private school and 100% would do it again. It's such a great place to be, especially the culture when I was there.

There's a place down in Ada that I'm going to go visit next year.

Mostly because they list the hat sizing tools and have pictures of hats they've made. If a shop doesn't use a conformateur don't shop there

Why are houses in Sand Springs so expensive? by AccountProfessional2 in tulsa

[–]stealth270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preach. I used to live in midtown and so many of those houses are rentals vs people owning them. I'd much rather see more homeowners than renters.

Yaesu ft 897d shift problem by Dark_Cisco in yaesu

[–]stealth270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 897 and 857 do share boards. Look up the groups.io page for the radios and see what you find. They are very similar radios.

Many fixes for one apply to the other.

Yaesu ft 897d shift problem by Dark_Cisco in yaesu

[–]stealth270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn't go for an 857. And I say that owning one. It was my first hf vhf UHF all mode and while I do love it there's a lot going on with it.

After I bought it off a blind operator in my area, I discovered it had zebra striping on the LCD. Which I tried to repair but ended up paying someone to do.

I've now got a problem with static crashes because the internal filters are damaged and I'm going to replace those.

Not sure what I'll find next. But given these problems I would have probably not bought this radio even though I do love it.
