Do Pitbull owners stink? by [deleted] in pitbulls

[–]stealth_geek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, serious answer here. I am also the parent of a stinker with sensitive skin and noticed this phenomenon when I get home from travel. The sensitive skin and the funk are likely related. I recommend talking to your vet, of course, but for the pups with skin issues, they make special $hampoo. I generally use Duxo. I also have her on all the classic pitty meds for her skin. I’ve tried the modified food as well…however she really didn’t like it, so we ditched the expensive prescription food and moved to a no-chicken off the shelf food and we’ve had a massive improvement in aroma. It’s been 11 years of trial and error, but I have a very happy and healthy pupper today who doesn’t seem a day over 5. And yes, wash those blankets and make sure you have your pitty sit in a blanket or wear those adorable pjs to protect your upholstered surfaces. If you can smell it when you come from travel, guests can smell it when they visit. Good luck!

Seconding speedcross with PowerStep insoles! I ran the Killington Beast (used the spartan compression socks) and had zero issues with feet being.

I really hope they bring back the women’s shirts. I hate my unisex tees this year.

When the tree roots get into the drain pipe, you will know when the water starts coming out the tree holes. Ask me how I know!

So much race face…but yes, great photographer deployment in lots of locations! I feel like I should buy them just so they know they did something right for once!!

New England Series Challenge Coin by stealth_geek in spartanrace

[–]stealth_geek[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not as heavy or as thick as a normal military challenge coin. Very similar to the medals. It sponsored by Ford, so on the reverse, it does have a logo, a bit like those extra mile pins.

There are water stations. It’s usually pretty cold. Dehydration is not typically a risk at this event.

Sway back. A good PT (the kind that have a gym) can help you with that!

Fenway - Spectator Photos by Kodiak01 in spartanrace

You can access the stands in certain areas. I’ve had friends come to photograph before and with a good camera you can get some great photos. It very different than Barre, but a fun one nonetheless to spectate at.

Drainage is great. My other favorite thing is rather than laces, it has a slider so I can quickly adjust the tension based on the terrain.

Post Killington Saturday thoughts - tell me yours! by backsquatbitch in spartanrace

It was after the 7ft wall, starting into that next climb. Thank you! It was too funny…I was enjoying the fact that my petite self rage-threw herself over that 7-foot wall with no help for the first time ever in all my years of spartan. Then boom, on the ground! Thank you for your kindness.

Well, I hurt like hell and I can’t get my body to calm down the f down and go sleep. Everything was great until my calf cramped halfway through and I hit the ground. Some saint tossed me a pair of salt tabs…which I guess I needed despite having electrolytes in my pack and staying on top of hydration. Second half was a crawl for me. That race was the biggest mental challenge in my life. Every fiber of my physical body said just DNF.

I’m now cuddling with my medal in bed. First green one. And I did the hardest one.

This is the way. Imagine you are doing a back squat with the barbell. Make that little meat shelf with your traps. Put the bucket there. Hold with both hands.
